Did you sentry jumped and placed the teleporter there? I'm assuming you did the quantum jump, but it's impossible/extremelly hard to do that on flat surfaces. :s:
How. Just how. Its almost impossible to do on flat surfaces. Even slanted surface builds are insanely hard
It's even funnier when they don't know what the batallion's backup does because so few people run it.
I have all 3 banners and use them all in different situation Banner for defense, backup for offensive pushes (on gamemodes where there's clear offense vs defense), concheror to survive nasty conflicts (usually on neutral gamemodes, like ctf OR koth) I still believe backup is just marginally too weak to consistently use instead of the gunboats but it does have some really strong niche uses, it's just sad that it's something i cant use as a dedicated secondary like banner or conch.

Does "bottom dollar" make you think of little orphan girls with red hair?
Does "bottom dollar" make you think of little orphan girls with red hair?
This is not a productive area of discussion.
I really like it when someone topscores and still takes the effort to point this out in chat. I mean, there is a huge scoreboard at the end of the round showing this information to everybody, but, you know, still, it's really nice of them to put the info in chat in case I miss it somehow.

when mvm with randoms actually works and you beat your record of damage and set a new one of 216k as heavy
I have a serious case of knife twirling syndrome. I just loved constantly switching between the revolver and knife just to see the knife twirl. It's so bad I downloaded a mod just to get a bit longer trick. Then Valve disabled mods. Those were some dark times. And recently, they decreased switch speed which sped up the animation even more, so there is now barely a point. It's horrible. A part of me died. I thought I were done with TF2 (not really I just got horrible FPS which they somehow fixed so thank god). Then I realized there are knife skins now. And you can inspect them to get a couple super cool tricks. This is the best shit ever.
Got Pyroland case as a contract reward 4th time in a row. $$$ [editline]Yes.[/editline] Or rather €€€.
I've learned that playing mvm at 2 a.m. always groups me with others that know what to do as the class they're playing as. It's worked six times in a row now.
At one point during the summer, my friends and I decided to have some fun on ctf_turbine. Due to constant team imbalance, we were all spit between teams. So, me and my friends on Blu decided to hold up a massive sentry defense in the intel room, while my friends on red decide to siege us on the outside of our spawn with their own sentries. Now, after all my buildings were level 3, I decided to spend the match using the Rancho Relaxo, just taking my time and chilling. Before this one random yelled at me to get off my ass, because he was frustrated that I refused to repair my buildings. (The chair had held a firm grip on me damnit!) So, out of spite I decided to go out there as a lone engineer to make a difference in the siege, now there was one last sentry the red had owned, but was keeping a good bit of our attacking force at bay (Public servers, it tends to happen.) HOWEVER, the sentry was right below the balcony with those vent exits. I leapt down from the balcony, and fell directly on top of my friend's sentry. I then promptly destroyed it with my wrench and yelled, "HAPPY NOW!?" I then went back to using the Rancho Relaxo, satisfied that I was a hero. [sp]Oh then they uber rushed our intel and destroyed everything. So we lost.[/sp]
I love it when high tours in Mann Up mode help the first tours :)
I was playing phlog on gravel pit offense, and we had the final point left. so I activated mmph before running to the tower. A enemy soldier at the bottom of the tower rocket jumped below me at the perfect time and basically hand delivered me to his team, and I cleared off the whole point and capped :v:
A friend recently got back into TF2, plays exclusively battle medic with blutsauger (and he's actually pretty good). He even got a strange one off of the market. I have a specialized blutsauger kit fabricator laying in my inventory, thought I'd killstreakifiy the thing for him. Lack the parts though, so I went straight back to action. Dropped an australium flamethrower on the way. It's my first australium, too. When the loot screen went away, I saw everybody on the server gathered around me, then one guy said he was recording. I still need 6 kb-808s, though. EDIT: Don't need them anymore, thanks everyone for the offers
The mention of the blutsauger reminds me. I've more or less exclusively used the Crossbow since it came out, and I still love the thing. But recently I've been re-discovering needles of all kinds. They have the benefit the SMG and to some extent the pistol has: on pubs, most people underestimate it massively. If you rush around a corner and through a tight passage where a medic is shooting needles while escaping, it hurts really hard. They are so good at running backwards and covering your escape, and punishes people that think they can just tank through it :v: Oddly satisfying to track well with it too and see the numbers rack up. I still prefer the crossbow, but needles have certainly been re-appreciated.
During botbash (mvm mission where the meta is 4 soldiers 1 scout 1 engie), getting all the random soldiers to do the exact same upgrades and watch as we annihilate the wave (think it was 5 or 6)

Even if you can't, you'll do some really nasty damage.
The floodgates really opened on those hat drops, I played 2 hours of tf2 tonight and got a Tam o' Shanter and a Couvre Corner back-to-back. I also saw about 12 other hats drop in different servers, it was kinda ridiculous.

Even if you can't, you'll do some really nasty damage.
The trick to it, with both the Nail Gun in TF2C and the Syringe Gun, is backpedal as hard as you can. The delay in hitting due to them being projectiles is smaller if they chase you, making them easier to hit, and if you go around a corner you can launch a volley of syringes as you go so you can hit the enemy before they even see you - not to mention people don't expect a retreating enemy to be a threat. Also you can hit people behind cover with the arcing and the rapid hits freak out Snipers. Also, as someone unintentionally psychoanalyzed out of me in the Fallout thread, I really like projectile weapons because I like being able to see the target getting hit. It just feels so satisfying to land a full clip of syringes on some dumb Pyro who won't stop chasing me.
