TF2 Merchandise Megathread: Virtual fashion designer no more

Ok, now, I have taken a while to do things but I am trying to make the pyro look front on.

i just cannot seem to make him look that good front on.
(i know i have to make the vents more circular, but i gotta get the rest looking good before wasting time on something thats annoyingly more complex then it should be)
It does look good, though.
Although the "optical mask" seems like too much detail for a shirt, but maybe that's just me.

This is my 2nd workshop idea, The "Jarate Factory" boxers, and also my first post here. Long time lurker, but I wanted to showcase this.
Heres the link: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=303797210
What do you guys think?
Just a heads up, valve fixed the upload tags:

So, no more certified compatible shirts, hehe
But I think now it's too rigid. Like, only the 9 classes? What about a halloween tag? Npcs (saxton hale, pauline, etc)? Lore? Weapons? Which category bread goes? :0

Comments on both the Medic shirt and the Jarate Factory boxers will be very appreciated.

I kinda like it, but the problem I see is the manufacturing. Like, to stamp a shirt, you just get any shirt in the printer, and done. To make a boxer with full-on stamps, you need to print in the fabric first, then do the boxer with it.

[edit] Here is the Ubermunchkin shirt idea, brought to life!

Votes are appreciated!
I emailed Eric about it the other day and he forwarded it to someone. I thought that whoever 'fixed' it would leave the Shirt and Poster tags while removing everything but... I guess whoever done it went too far.
To those who didn't see, this is the list of tags you could choose. There are some rather peculiar options there, especially considering the latest option on the list.
I like how two of the old options are "Bane" and "Whale".
Half-Life is a SFM tag is why it's there. Tags from other games were included on accident.

I had a 3rd idea for a shirt, so I made it! What do you guys think of it? :D

It's nice, I like it! The only thing that bothers me is the negative space of the "h" of freightwell being closed, because of the serifs. I know, it's how the font itself is made, but that picks my attention.
[sp]But ignore me, it's ready to print![/sp]

Better?
if i were to make something related to the ingame birds, i should add the original creators as contributors/ask for permission, right?

And better readability for the "Getting from point" text :> A++

Well, after the item is accepted, it becomes an 'integral' part of tf2, right? Like, it falls under the rules of using anything else created by valve, question mark?
[sp]Just speculating, though[/sp]
thats not how that rule works, though.

The creator still has the rights over it.
I feel like I am doing this shirt thing incorrectly. The psd file they provide has a screen resolution of 72 PPI. And what I have been doing is drawing my stuff within the dotted lines of the template. Should I be drawing my stuff on a 15" x 19" image at 300 PPI? Or am I doing it correctly?
I feel like I am doing this shirt thing incorrectly.
You are.
Should I be drawing my stuff on a 15" x 19" image at 300 PPI?
Yes.
Also, the rules for this competition seem to be completely contradictory to one another...

The combination of rules 3, 4 and 6 is making my brain hurt.
The rule 4 refers to the logo of the TF2 game (the orange circle) and the Valve logo (VALVe and the Steam logo). When they refer to in-game logos, they mean the RED and BLU logo, the Mann Co. logo, and the logos of the different fictitious companies in the game.
It's not hard to understand.
Quite simply put, I think they don't want hundreds of submissions where there's a shirt with the tf logo printed on.
I'd agree that the submission rules and guidelines seem to be VERY loose.
Taking the recent Dota 2 merchandise as an example, the rules/guidelines were exactly the same, and yet many of the accepted designs hugely vary in size and positioning etc.
Anyway, submitted one of my artworks of the Medic as a print just in case, you never know.

It would have been nice if valve posted a link to the contest. People like me didnt even know it was considered a contest nor the rules and instructions to it.

"Use logos you can find in the game (telemax, happy farmers, etc) except for the TF logo, and don't use anything that's copyrighted outside of the TF world."
How can that make your brain hurt?
This is in reply to a question I had about resolution (300 dpi + min of 15"x19" + fully layered == can not upload to the workshop due to being far too large):

So yeah, you DO need a fully layered, 300 dpi, 15"x19" min file but you DON'T have to upload that to the workshop. Only if it's chosen do you need the large print-ready PSD.
Just to let people know, me and Jos changed the slogan on the chicken bucket shirt from 'Wanna do it?' to 'let's do this', before it was sent to valve. This wasn't at the request of We Love Fine, it's just something we personally wanted to change.
This obviously means the slogan is different from the quote from the love and war short, but we think it's for the best. We would both actually like to WEAR the shirt in public.
