Hey do any of you veterans remember this thing I made 7 years ago [thumb]http://i52.tinypic.com/vy5r84.png[/thumb] I decided to remake it
Is there a version colored for BLU team?
not yet, but the idea is to dull the red parts of the rust a bit and give them a touch of green
Hi wanted to share some more progress on the set that me and Vipes are working on everythings far from being near completion- as you can see i'm still toying around with colors to see what works best. Suggestions would be awesome
Maybe a bit less green-ish colour on the pockets, as of now they distract a bit from the rest of Pyro's body in a jarring way. Otherwise excellent work!
having so many pockets on his abdoment feels rather redundant given most if not all of the time they will be obscured by her arms/weapons. the pockets on the left are already clipping badly with the default one. I'd rather move them to the chest area, or place them around the belt.
what if you put the pockets on his hip belt?

the coat by itself looks odd since it splits at the bottom but is continuous across the torso without an indication where the sides overlap. Also, since the collar of the normal suit and the coat are the same color, they appear to blend into a weird combo. It could just be because of the dark background, but the rust, cinderblock, and bolts look garishly bright. The rust appears to be as reflective and smooth as the rest of the pipe, which i assume will change once the colors are picked but i wanted to point out regardless. I know the stain is supposed to look old but it looks more like grape juice than blood right now. The way its centered on the square is also odd since the two ridges would probably make contact with a target more often and would be equally bloody or more so. The way the pipe is held is odd because there's tape to protect the wielder's hands but the right hand is completely off of it. If the model's position was adjusted down where the left hand was closer to the block then both hands would be somewhat on the tape and the modeled details that are currently being covered by the right hand will be visible. Alternatively, the middle section of the pipe (where the gash is) could be lengthened.
Y'all talking 'bout Pyros? [T]https://puu.sh/zspAA/3257984668.png[/T]

I'll just hope that this thread is also fine for maps, but I made a Payload Map in the style of 2fort.
Got a Server hosting it? I wouldn't mind having a play on it.
VNN's Server and THG (1#) are hosting it, but are obviously not playing it the entire time.
Hey i've read all the criticism and im loving it, very useful stuff and I agree especially with: -Splitting the rainsuit with a zipperline -Cinder block being too bright -Tape not matching hand -toying around with the pouch colors. I have to say that i'm feeling a bit rusty(no pun intended) after 3-4 years of not doing much TF2 or anything really, I was in the millitary and that occupied 99% of my time. Sharing this flamethrower for now [thumb]https://puu.sh/zteMA/8074a133bf.png[/thumb] Its made to appear that the ignition is based by natural fire of oiled up paper and wood, and pyro uses the hand pump to spray canola oil on the paper piles to make it last longer. its constantly changing and i'm adding and removing parts, not the healthiest thing I know..for instance, it used to have a basket with TP dangling from it to show how the pyro collects his flamable stuff
Sharing this flamethrower for now [t]https://i.imgur.com/1I2xEpW.png[/t] [thumb]https://puu.sh/zteMA/8074a133bf.png[/thumb]
While I do love the design and concept of the flamethrower, I feel like the silhouette looks a little bit messy and strays too far from the original flame thrower. Perhaps you could compact the design or something?
Snipped
That's a very interesting flamethrower model you've got there, It breaks the traditional silhouette of the flamethrower and couldn't possibly be confused with any other flamethrower. Awesome Job! I'm loving theses new items so far.
I don't feel like the set really fits together. There's the military gas mask and the pouches which work well but the rain jacket and home made weapons are off base.
wip, thoughts?
continuation of the "I gonna smash my head in a brick wall if doesn't get added" set
This is gonna sound cheesy, but this is hands down one of the best looking collection of items that (hopefully) soon to hit the workshop. Keep up the stellar work.
Maybe make it equipable by Soldier too?
But the way the soldier holds melee weapons wouldn't make much sense realistically, as I tried to portray the axe as heavy enough that it would need 2 hands to swing. Demoman would make more sense, but the weapon was originally intended for the pyro
More concepts added to the list, this is the latest one. Here is the complete list, if you like something just let me know <3 https://imgur.com/a/6GpGh
I don't make a habit out of imagining (let alone pitching) TF2 workshop ideas but this one seems like a shoo-in for the next update. I'm looking for modelers, texture artists, animation rig experts, whatever at this early point who are interested. Valve likes their pocket cosmetics; there's been one added in each of the past 4 updates. Olivia Mann, a comic and lore character, doesn't have one. Why should she get one? Ignoring the obvious little girls = dollies parallel, I have a crackpot theory that she'll be relevant in the next comic update. It's no coincidence the Administrator is hunting down the last bit of Australium and Olivia was shown with weird, gold-gleaming eyes in her earliest appearance (and suspiciously hasn't been mentioned since, even with her father dying on panel.) There's even a reference to Australium affecting the Administrator when she was a young girl too. I think I'm on to something, but I just don't know how to model. Hopefully this concept inspires someone who can to work with me. I can discuss it on Steam, feel free to add me.
please no more pocket items.
I like the concept but yeah pocket items are a meme at this point.
Tired or not, I think it would get accepted into the game. And I think the Olivia character will have a role in the final comic.
final comic
Your optimism is very inspiring
