I don't exactly picture this as a coat with two varying styles, as I'm sure the polys required would exceed the limit, but moreso as a way to showcase how I'd imagine this coat being showcased.
Working on a slime skin, but I can't help but feel I'm missing a small detail. The secondary color will be black though yes, but for the slime portion itself, something feels off.

Whoops I did a thing. Long time no see!
This is actually a major revision of a submission from 2015, which in itself is a remake of the Cloak of the Flaming Crow from 2013. I felt that the original was too bland and unfinished, so I gave the textures a new paintjob to give it more flair.

I'd make the black outlines a lot thinner and not as jet black. Skinnier, dark grey lines would look fantastic.
Bandage color itself looks great.

Probably be best for soldier I'd be presuming... I still wish we could get the original Sentry from QWTF into this game, since of all the items/weapons that didn't use Quake assets, I thought it was the best detailed and most interesting of the lot. Was trying to get someone last year for QWTF's 20th birthday.

Dark brown does look nice, maybe you could put a few engraved, Ancient Egyptian-inspired symbols on the brown parts?
They'd probably have to be a lighter color, like an off-white, to stick out from the brown base- or you could adjust the brown base to match the mid-brown in the wrapping part when adding them.

You're better than that.
I think it's fine to take some of the more generic Valve made textures as an overlay or multiply layer to tie your own work visually with the existing textures, but just straight up ripping the Egypt hieroglyphs as a base texture is too far IMO.
Just make your own while referencing the Egypt ones. You'll probably want them to be more crisp for a weapon texture anyway, and going the extra distance will really help when showcasing your skin.
