I dunno if Sniper SMG animations will work since the Sniper's SMG magazine is in the front while the MAC-10's magazine is in the middle. So I think it can only be custom reload animations.

I imagine it would be a simple tweak to the existing animations and moving the grip to the magazine but that's miles away, I'm more interested in criticism and getting the model complete before even thinking about animations.

Unless someone steps forward and organizes the whole thing it's not gonna happen.
I was interested in hosting it, making a logo/website for it, to step it up from the previous years, but given the lack of posts here and submissions on the workshop lately I'm not expecting lots of interest in it and rather invest my time in other projects. People are still working on Jungle and Frontline submissions as well as other projects. You are free to convince me otherwise but at the moment my incentive to work on an Arms Race is rather low.
Verno already said he's not interested in hosting another one. So, if there's any volunteers to set it up, go ahead!

Honestly defeats the point of a whip if you're just gonna wrap it up and bludgeon them with it.
What you had before was on the right track, but you needed to extend the actual whip part so that it was longer and could still be feasibly used like a whip:

I'd have it droop a tad more so its not standing up too straight, then give it some holy mackerel styled jiggle-bones. But otherwise that looks good.

somone said it well, it's lacking bulk. the themes of the grordbort weapons, i have always felt are way underrated. grordbort weapons capture in amazing detail TF2's 1950s theme, and what they considered to be the future technolgies, fitting very well of the TF2 world; albeit them being spacey weapons.
I would say the big things *In my opinion* to focus on, is avoiding the overdone cartoony feel that was done with the C.A.P.P.E.R. (it was a pretty good weapon, but a bit too "colorful cartoony" that didnt meet the "tf2 cartoony" feel) and focusing on retrofuturistic aspects, as well as traces of steam punk elements.
I think the steampunk tiny features would help bring bulk to the weapon, and not make it so bland.

Example of steampunk items. Notice the added cosmetics, like the spiral-esc contraptions and other doo-daas. Eliminate the use of gears in your design in order to help perpetuate the idea of "the future"

buck rogers, a very old tv show, set in mind some pretty good ideas of what people in the past thought the future would be. If you ever run out of ideas of inspiration, try just googling some Buck Rogers stuff

other 1950s types use scale-esc shapes to make the gun look more "monstrous" and almost fish like to bring about feelings of "inhuman" I would suggest avoiding them, as they are not my forte, and they were designed to fit the role of a non-human weapon, such as aliens and such, not so much future human esc.
