Tried without custom theme?
Tried without custom theme?
Yep. Same with default theme. Going beta doesn't fix it either.
If it's really an issue and you can't find anything that works to fix it, you could always go nuclear by deleting everything in your Steam folder that isn't the Steam .exe or your steamapps folder, then running Steam to let it redownload and recreate those files. I don't have a clue what could be causing it, but if it shows the image at first before going blank I figure it's something to do with client files and not a network issue or something.
Tried without custom theme?
During my testing, I remember there being like a pixel perfect window width that cause the DLC group to fit images, but not display the image. Either side of that value and it worked perfectly [editline]18th July 2017[/editline] Valve just released another beta patch for crashes on startup
I really wish Valve would add an option to block group invites from people who aren't on your friends list
Anyone else having problem installing anything that is marked as "free"? When I press Play Game on Doom for example to install it nothing happens, I even tried via steam://run/379720 and still nothing, same happens with any and every Free game on steam. [editline]20th July 2017[/editline] Fixed itself suddenly, probably something was wonky at Steam's side.

Contractors probably just aren't completely finished with the building their new space is in. They might also be doing their own work, and that's taking longer than expected (Putting in an extremely robust server room, getting the Vive rooms set up, maybe they're using 10000BaseT and need to wire that themselves, etc)
The International is also around the corner and Valve will be busy with that.
Steam is experiencing some kind of strange attack or bug If you are lagging/client is not responding you need to clear your steam web cache https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/6p9o48/is_the_steam_app_laggin_for_anyone_else_both_of/
Can't believe it was that simple of a fix lol
Doesn't solve the problem though, if you click on web links on Steam (like the community or profiles) it will lag again
Have you tried the beta branch? I think it's running a newer version of Chromium, which could help
Doesn't solve the problem though, if you click on web links on Steam (like the community or profiles) it will lag again
Store doesn't seem to slow Steam down again, so it appears all the important things work at least.
We are mega forum now, boys and girls.
We are mega forum now, boys and girls.
There isn't much left to talk about with Valve at this point though
There isn't much left to talk about with Valve at this point though
They're mainly focused on a new, unexplored frontier of gaming right now. In time, I'm sure we'll have more to talk about than times and games past. [editline]a[/editline] Also complaining about how broken their stuff is. That's pretty regular.
It was pretty funny watching Reddit lose its mind when Portal 2 was updated with the following patch notes:
Show an error dialog if the game is launched while Steam isn't running
I want to use in-home streaming for a sourcemod, and it's not officially supported - any way I can link steam to an executable and then add something like -game "mod here"? The mod is Portal: Still Alive

The mod is Portal: Still Alive
can you not stream non-steam games? You should be able to add command line parameters to these as well for running mods [editline]28th August 2017[/editline] If that doesn't work, just add these to the portal game (instructions changed since portal now stores it's data in common, not a directory based on your steam account name). http://portalmaps.wecreatestuff.com/ It's not the same, but it's the original 2008 map pack
can you not stream non-steam games? Portal's exe? Source SDK Base 2007?

However I'm not exactly sure how it all fits together with mods, I only have played hl2 mods
