Valve's got a new guy for their Linux driver efforts reddit link
The Facebook page(https://www.facebook.com/left4dead2) on the L4D blog(http://www.l4d.com/blog/) Now has the name of Ted Carson (Known to be working on source 2 and l4d3 via Jira Leak) and has the hand from the beginning of the L4D1 trailer but with 3 fingers instead of 4. [t]https://scontent.flhr2-2.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/27750549_1700952303299206_1043701893885985014_n.jpg?oh=e9037fb2c30c8a23982bea0dd3960104&oe=5B0BC769[/t] I have a hunch someone was able to hijack the left4dead2 custom url but you never know :)
Sounds like a fuckup more than anything, but if Source 2 FINALLY got a release after 3 years that’d be great [editline]11th February 2018[/editline] Then maybe we could hack all the games we really wanted them to make onto it :vs:

We haven’t seen that art before have we? Oh boy. [editline]11th February 2018[/editline] The missing finger looks kinda photoshopped so it’s probably fake

So, I have a Steam account with an added Mobile Authenticator, but I had to borrow my registered phone to someone, and now I only have access to a temporary android replacement. If I install the Steam app on it and try to log in with my username and password, it wants me to put in the generated Steam Guard code, which of course isn't showing up on the new device I'm adding. Is there any way for me to log into Steam on this new phone without having access to the old one for the Steam Guard code? Is removing the authenticator from the account and re-adding it the only way to log in on a new device without access to the app-generated Steam Guard codes? I have those backup emergency ones that you could print out for precaution, though.
The Steam Lunar New Year Sale is live, and with it a new wishlist. Also the banners feature dogs from video games, even has D0G from Half-Life 2, who wears a VR headset in the VR banner. Oh great, they add discount filters but remove price sorting. Guess I'll keep using https://steamdb.info/sales/
when did steam start doing this?
when did steam start doing this?
i had this a couple weeks back, but i kinda wish it'd tell me what profile it was on about
I'm not sure if i should post this here but I can't seem to connect to the steam servers for some weird ass reason. My internet is fine but nothing about Steam works properly. [t]https://i.imgur.com/RXuowQI.png[/t] Here is how the steam app looks. And this is what i get when i try to download steaminstall [t]https://i.imgur.com/pufwvFX.png[/t] Can someone tell me why this is happening out of a sudden? I've been away for 2 days now and when i got back, it's like this. I don't see anything wrong with my internet connection at all, the problem is only with anything that has to do with Steam. I can go into steam store website but i can't log in or download the steaminstall exe. Anyone can help?
I can go into steam store website but i can't log in or download the steaminstall exe. Anyone can help?
My usual approach to things like this is to just open an elevated command prompt and type in "ipconfig /flushdns". If it still doesn't work I reboot, if it still doesn't work I make sure nothing did anything stupid to my hosts file. Edit: It's also possible you have a rogue addon screwing with your net, try safe mode/disabling those/another browser/etc

I tried to access Steam on my phone to try and buy something but it didnot work. So i decided to disable my Wifi and tried the same and it worked. So it's definitely something wrong with my internet/router. I can't even download and install games on steam at all. I tried resetting my router but it still not working.
Is the download progress bar for the Steam taskbar icon broken since the dpi-scaling beta update for anyone else? Using Win8.1
Is the download progress bar for the Steam taskbar icon broken since the dpi-scaling beta update for anyone else? Using Win8.1
broken for me on Win10 1607, so I assume they broke it somehow.
You can now have a compact view in the new Steam wishlist, makes it pretty much like the old one. Also you can ignore Steam curators now.
You can now have a compact view in the new Steam wishlist, makes it pretty much like the old one. Also you can ignore Steam curators now.
That's funny, I was ignoring steam curators since they added it
i got my first refund today (on northgard, it's a bit too slow paced for my liking and it's still pretty buggy for a game that just left early access). it's a much easier process than i was anticipating.
Is the recent activity page in your steam profile bugging out for anyone else?
Is the recent activity page in your steam profile bugging out for anyone else?
It does seem that everyone is affected by it. I think that one of Valve's servers is fucking up, it seems really random on what games it does or does not seem to remember per user.
Nice topic! :) [editline]10th March 2018[/editline] Nice topic! :)
7? Where did he get that from?
7? Where did he get that from?
Most likely he counted some prototypes or projects on hold, i don't think they would manage developing more than even 2 games at a time, considering that some people are still working on updates for current games. I hope that video will answer that.

Can't remember if this was a thing, let alone using it back in uni last year Was there a launch parameter for steam for force using the websocket connection?
More new pics of Valve's new office: https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/03/valve-lets-us-loose-in-its-new-offices-unlocks-the-doors-to-a-rare-merch-room/
Valve will be at GDC this year; probably in a invitation only room. Moscone South, Upper Mezzanine, Esplanade Ballroom, Room 154 75' x 50' 3700 sq/ft Lots of indie VR devs will be sharing the space so probably no real announcements.
