So whats weird with this one is the windows stuff in the bottom left (SteamDB fuckup?)
Wait why is Halo 5 on the game list?
AND FORZA
Since no one seems to have mentioned this I did a google search for the guy in that image and this account comes back
http://steamcommunity.com/id/steamuniversal
It hasn't logged in for 22 days so SteamU definitely stands for Steam Universal
EDIT: someone on reddit found it 15 minutes ago, but yeah lol
-wrong-
no, it's a valve employees screen. picture is from december (seen in the windows bar)
Looked it up, more likely to be http://benharthun.com/ or the owner of http://steamcommunity.com/id/steamuniversal this account due to being a fan of the division.
New Beta update just removed these files. Unusually quick damage control by Valve!

Lethal Foot's steam profile went private as well.

This is the profile for Valves new anti-spambot it seems.

Remember its also impossible to have "valve" in your steam name

Oh my god, new UI, it's finally happening.
There's a couple of other interesting things buried in the update; there's a ton of references to the Opus codec, so it looks like voice is getting an upgrade. A bunch of other new code stuff referencing "ClientUI" as well as what looks like a massive refactoring of a bunch of other code, especially code for dealing with how apps are displayed in the UI. There is so much smoke here that there can't possibly not be fire.

Round avatars
I remember the rambling about this for pages back in 'Making facepunch better' threads
I believe it's the worst UI trend
This is pretty exciting
And the only Valve title in there is Day of Defeat: Source...
Also Halo 5 Guardians and Forza Motorsport 5 in the sidebar, fucking sweet.

It's on there twice each, I wouldn't take that to heart.

It looks like all the games loop, it could be some sort of infinite scrolling thing (dunno why that would be implemented though)
It's definitely a mockup, file name is "Placement_Guide.png"
As someone who's developing for steam, I'm curious how they're gonna handle legacy games that don't have branding ready for this new poster format.

"Buckle up, fuckboy!"
Steam seems to think I last played every single game in my library today.

That happens all the time. I am worried that it will mess up the Stanley Parable achievement I am working on, Go Outside. The one where you should not play it for five years.

Really bugs like these are the only time I'd condone using that Steam Achievement Manager, assuming that's still not something that causes bans.

Alternatively I heard someone say that you can just fuck with Windows time and it'll give it to you.
The European Commission has opened investigation into certain publishers using Steam for illegal regional blocking of certain EU members like Poland or Czechia.

For instance I know Bethesda did this sort of thing with Dishonored, there are two separate versions on Steam, one is specific to eastern europe and Russia. Apparently this led to shenanigans like each version having its own store page and discussion board and not allowing people with the RU version to purchase DLC, which thankfully got eventually sorted out.
Still, I hope they manage to scare publishers from pulling that kind of shit in the future. If anything it's weird to be lumped together with Russia.
This SteamU account name is "Lethal Foot"
Big Picture internal name is tenfoot.
It's not related (as 10-foot interface was already a thing) but amusing nonetheless :v:
"Mortal Combat X"
Yep... that means the names of games there are just randomly typed. I doubt Halo 5 is coming.
I really don't want half of the screen to be cosmetic fluff.
Could've been replaced with update notes and general useful stuff like an easier way to manage workshop uploads, screenshots and reviews.
Is steam down for anyone else? Been so all day seems like.

Tenfoot refers to a Ten foot user interface
It's just a developers term for anything you run on a TV or something at a distance (ten feet, or three metres)
two foot (60cm) would be a regular desktop interface

I know, and already noted that. But it's still amusing.
