Just looking at the Artifact threads in Sensationalist Headlines, if I were a casual gaming fan I wouldn't even know Valve released a game after 5 years. Outside of that (for now?) small audience it captured no one. This also goes for their HW initiatives. They came and went. Would be interesting to see another product from them that actually has a wider appeal.
Really surprised to report that people still play TF2 on Xbox 360. It works on Xbox One, so maybe that's why?
My gold ran out a couple days ago and not planning on renewing but TF2 was basically the only reason I had it. People have always been playing TF2 360. Obviously it's no where near the playercount of normal TF2 or other more mainstream/recent games but I don't think I've ever booted it up and not found a server, and I've been playing since 2013.
Vista and XP support are GONE
rip nerds
Good, no one should be using unsecured OSes
Yeah, but what stops people who already have Steam installed from running it in offline mode? Did they timebomb it?
You won't get updates, new versions of the installer will probably fail a compatibility check
This is interesting. I'm guessing it was probably a mistake since the page is gone now but it would be pretty cool if Valve opened a new office in London.
what did he leave valve for anyways? like where did he go
Wrote Psychonauts 2
He said he was moving back to Cleveland to work at his niece's juice shop :-D
Valve is adding dedicated server game hosting to Steamworks and will allow third party games to use Valve's Relay Network that prevents DDoS attacks.

There was a thread on this a week ago too but nobody mentioned it
So steam is doing this thing where certain words in chat have that red squiggly underline, like a spell check, but it's doing it to correctly spelled word and it's super annoying. Is there any way to turn this off? I'm tired of it flagging common everyday words like "english" and "pube".

This is just sad.
The Russian spellcheck recognizes "блядь" and "сука" but not any other common swear words
No, its beautiful, having all those cheaters banned so god damn fast is great
You misunderstand. I feel sad for Valve to make a perfect playground for THAT much cheaters.
Ez datasets for VACNet

Might be a hint for the new UI.
Well there's like a few community elements that are updated, and it does fit that style of UI above. Thinking community might be getting a refresh soon.
the updates to chat have slowed down. Shows signs that the chat team have shifted primary focus back into the client.
the steam chat team were from what I remember from GCAP, were a handful of developers from the steam client team that took the same framework for the new client to make the chat system.
We have no dates, but we should expect it this year. but I hope in the next six months it will be released, and hopefully with quite a lengthy beta
remember this? (they kinda make sense to use to gradually remove access limitations so you can scale it appropriately, even if they suck)
