Well, for the last few years they've ignored it like it hasn't existed, so...?
I wish they would dismantle Mann VS Machine and redo it.
What's wrong with MvM? It's a great game mode, the only problem with it is that they haven't added a new campaign in 300 years
I wish they would dismantle Mann Vs. Machine and pretend it never happened.
I paid for MvM tickets and it was work the 1$ [editline]12th February 2017[/editline] Come after me boy
It just felt like an incredibly shoehorned tower defense gamemode because they realized they were beginning to lose money on the cosmetic market. The few times I played it, whether by failure in matchmaking or difficulty scaling, it was laughably unbalanced; we either effortlessly creamed the robots by literally everyone being engineer, or got steamrollered within a couple minutes.

Is MvM too easy, or is it too hard? It can't be unbalanced both ways, that doesn't make any sense at all. When you only play a couple of rounds you're not going to get a good idea of how balanced it is. I mean shit, a person new to TF2 in general could easily have the same opinion after a few PvP pub games, with one round being an easy stomp and the next getting steamrolled. At least in MvM you get to choose your difficulty.
I've had both experiences multiple times, and I promise it wasn't for wont of competent defense. There's no scaling in terms of difficulty, the game doesn't get harder if you're creaming it and the game doesn't relent if you're getting fisted.

It's almost like "easy" (called normal for some reason) is intended to be easy. Even if that is the argument he's making it's objectively wrong. All engie isn't even remotely the meta so it can't be that "picking something that isn't the meta it's impossible" and if your team is getting rolled it's because your team is shit. It sounds like he tried the lower difficulties and never went beyond that and got stuck with idiot pubs who fucked up and made the missions seem more difficult than they are. I've gone through the exact same mission with two different teams that all had roughly the same load out and had each instance go completely differently in terms of difficulty due to individual skill differences and how well we all worked together. But anyways this is a TF2 discussion, not really a general Valve discussion.

It wouldn't even work on anything but the easiest difficulties. It's an awful strategy.
Here's a brainfart: In VR, having a cage on your head of some description helps negate the ill effects as your brain gets a solid point of reference. Racing games are known to be a perfect fit for VR for this reason as you can see the car around you, plus you're sitting down comfortably, their only problem is that not everyone likes just driving. Players at large prefer having control over a human-like character who can engage in a variety of tasks, not just moving around. But what if we combine the two? Which gets interesting when we consider some ancient pre-VR rumors, combined with the much more recent confirmation that they are developing 3 full-fledged VR games. I know it's most likely not happening, but that doesn't change the fact that it really, really needs to :v:
So the entirety of AMC The Walking Dead is now on Steam. http://store.steampowered.com/app/581510/ I did not expect that.

I'm probably asking for Left 4 Dead to be a different game, but I'm beginning to wish there were other things to shoot besides zombies. Like zombie dogs, or enemy survivors, or flying turrets.
holy shit its expensive [t]http://i.imgur.com/7MAgtdw.png[/t] this is a joke right?
Surprise, that's how much buying television shows to watch is. Amazon has very similar prices.
Surprise, that's how much buying television shows to watch is. Amazon has very similar prices.
The difference is that on Amazon you can get a Bluray copy for almost half of the Steam prices and shipped to you in two days if you've got Prime.

And that's Blu-Ray Disc selling, which Steam doesn't even do. Amazon's streaming purchase prices are essentially the same.
Looks like BurtonJ left Valve last month
According to the HLDS mailing list, SDK2013 and TF2 clients and servers will soon be compiled using MSVCP 2015, signaling the beginning of the end of Windows XP support from Valve.
STEAM AUDIO: SPATIAL AUDIO TECH ANNOUNCED, BETA SDK AVAILABLE NOW Multiplatform Spatial Audio Solution Offered Free of Charge February 23, 2017 - The Steam Audio SDK is available now via a free Beta. Steam Audio is the product of many years of academic and industry research and development, and is designed to enhance all interactive products, specifically VR applications. It is the next generation of the Phonon spatial audio tools previously developed by Impulsonic, which is now part of Valve. The Steam Audio SDK is available free of charge, without any royalty requirements. Supporting multiple platforms (Windows, Linux, macOS, Android), Steam Audio is not restricted to any particular VR device or to Steam. Visit the Steam Audio Community Hub to hear examples of what's possible with this technology. The Steam Audio SDK currently supports the Unity engine and includes a C API for integration into other game engines and audio middleware. "Adding Steam Audio to the arsenal of tools available to Unity developers gives them an easy solution for extending the acoustic depths of their VR and desktop creations, and is the latest result of our collaboration with Valve," said Tony Parisi, Head of VR/AR Strategy at Unity Technologies. Meanwhile, Epic Games will be demoing Steam Audio in Unreal Engine technology at GDC next week. "As a new plugin for the new Unreal Audio Engine, Steam Audio fundamentally extends its capabilities and provides a multi-platform solution to game audio developers who want to create realistic and high-quality sound propagation, reverberation modeling, and binaural spatialization for their games," said Aaron McLeran, audio programmer at Epic Games. Steam Audio is an advanced spatial audio solution that uses physics-based sound propagation in addition to HRTF-based binaural audio for increased immersion. Spatial audio significantly improves immersion in VR; adding physics-based sound propagation further improves the experience by consistently recreating how sound interacts with the virtual environment. "Valve is always trying to advance what the very best games and entertainment can offer," said Anish Chandak of Valve. "Steam Audio is a feature-rich spatial audio solution available to all developers, for use wherever and however they want to use it." The Steam Audio SDK is available now in beta and will see ongoing updates as Valve gathers feedback from the development community.
https://valvesoftware.github.io/steam-audio/
This is what CSGO's HRTF is using and i guess what the audio company valve bought produced.
is this a replacement for the Miles sound system actually?

when im logged into steam on my laptop and pc it list games installed on both systems is that because it will stream the games?
when im logged into steam on my laptop and pc it list games installed on both systems is that because it will stream the games?
Yup. If both PC's are on and on the same Wifi network, it'll do that. If you have MGSV installed on your PC and launch it from your laptop, it'll run on your PC and stream to your laptop. Likewise vice versa from your laptop to your PC if you decide to run Cogs, or something.
I recently got a 1440p monitor (best monitor I've ever had) but for some strange reason, Steam doesn't seem to be coping well. For a start, the right click menu is floating above the taskbar and it stays like that until I restart Steam, it works fine THEN does it again. Chat notifications are doing the same as well. I've got a second monitor (smaller resolution though) but I didn't have this problem before when I had a 720p TV as my main monitor. Any fixes? The resolution (1440p) is the same in Windows' own display settings and even in nVidia's control panel so it can't be that.
