I logged on last week, 3 of the 4 news were blocked for my region
probably TV shows
I have an issue with the Steam client that's related to the Steam Controller. What should I do? I made a detailed bug report on the Steam Beta client group, but, obviously, didn't get a response from any employees. Is this the infamous Steam Support problem that I kept hearing about? Can I e-mail somebody from the team?

Another user reported the same issue there a week ago, still nothing.

From working in customer support for a major games company, I can say don't expect a response for a long time. Can take up to a month for things to get responses where I am and Steam is several orders bigger.
The steamworks site got redone today
Including Direct Distribution (the replacement for greenlight)

edit: Looks they mistakenly put it up too early... here's a picture.

Anyone see how much it costs? I don't think they announced that

New anime sale, and it turns out that now you can buy more Chinese cartoons on Steam.
That's neat i guess.
Does Family Sharing work with streaming video content (if you own it)?

hey that's pretty good
The age of strings on STS suggests that the system for fees has been in the works for awhile?
Seems that your fee is given back after you've earned X dollars, as expected.

Seems to be touching on stuff like curators/the Discovery system, etc.
kudos to valve for the mac version of steam. starts fucking instantly, runs amazingly and theres a decent library of games. i have nearly 300 games and more than a third of them are available on mac.
I recently got a 1440p monitor (best monitor I've ever had) but for some strange reason, Steam doesn't seem to be coping well.
For a start, the right click menu is floating above the taskbar and it stays like that until I restart Steam, it works fine THEN does it again.
Chat notifications are doing the same as well. I've got a second monitor (smaller resolution though) but I didn't have this problem before when I had a 720p TV as my main monitor.

Any fixes? The resolution (1440p) is the same in Windows' own display settings and even in nVidia's control panel so it can't be that.
I've been using Steam on a 1440p + 1080p setup since xmas, not had an issues with Steam that I can recall. It's probably related to DPI settings, I had to do something with Winamp (creating a secondary manifest or something) to stop it trying to do it's own unwanted scaling.
I have a -40% coupon for INSIDE That I recieved for owning LIMBO. So on the INSIDE store page I see this
[t]https://i.imgur.com/60UKYQr.png[/t].
So can I apply my -40% coupon to this bundle? Applicable games only shows INSIDE
EDIT: added both the game and the bundle to my cart, and the coupon only applied to the game; so there's my answer
big shot in the dark here since i'm one of the 20 people who bought a steam controller and the only one on mac.
the controller isn't working in some games. it works in csgo, the only other games i have a wasteland 2 (doesn't register any input except for the steam button) and yookalaylee which i'm trying to play with a controller. launching them from big picture mode, no dice, as soon as the game starts i can't move the mouse cursor and no input is recognised except for the steam button to bring up the overlay.
theres no support online for it because like i said, its a steam controller and i'm on mac.

What are your bindings for the Steam controller?

Is In-Home Streaming involved?
Also, try turning the controller off (preferably using a Steam Button Chord) while in-game, then turn it on and immediately start pressing buttons and using touchpads like crazy - see if it works even a little bit.
the bindings were default xbox layout, which doesnt work, if i remap to keyboard it does work but movement sucks and i still cant control the camera.
never mind, looks like xinput output was never working on macs and they promised a fix for it 2 years ago lol.
Anyone else been hit by that unicode thing that crashes Steam? A few people on my list have messaged me and immediately Steam closes, can't even open chat anymore.

It works amazing on windows but they never really got around to mac support
if you don't intend on joining us filthy "PC" scum you might want to refund it :v:
[editline]16th April 2017[/editline]
the hurdle is learning how to properly set it up and getting a nice baseline list of templates going, and then from there just using it as intended but its worth it for windows users at least
i was on windows when i got it and it worked a treat.
needed os x for uni work so i'm stuck with it for a semester. however i've grown real fond of it and don't want to go back to windows.
[editline]17th April 2017[/editline]
i'll probably just put windows on a second hard drive just for playing games.

Opt in the beta client, it's fixed there.
So in the past my brother and I have been able to play Steam games at the same time, even if one of them was shared from the other's library, but suddenly no dice; if I play any game of mine while he's trying to play my Fallout 4, it disables access period. Was I just imagining it and we always happened to miss playing at the same time before, or did they do a policy change?

always has been like that, have you been playing with one player offline?
I'm just curious, can steam forget a password on it's own, cause I just opened up Dishonoured 2 to try but for some odd reason it crashed and I had to turn off my pc by the switch on the front, restarted the pc and for some reason steam wouldn't log in and my password wouldn't work, I've got it sorted now but I just don't think I was hacked or anything? I know it sounds stupid but yeah
It can happen that it asks you for your password again, but your old password should have worked. If it didn't, someone most likely changed it.
A friend told me Ubisoft's pulling their titles off Steam. I looked, and a lot of stuff is no longer purchasable, at least over here.

Like what? I can still see a lot of their stuff
Now I'm even less likely to buy Ubisoft games.
