Here is a tutorial for you Cal
1:Navigate to your bin folder (Steam Install Path/steamapps/common/Black Mesa/bin)
2:Open up the executable "blackmesa_publish"
3:In the lower section of the window that pops up, click "Create New Content"
4:In the bars above, type in the title, tags, description and the folder and thumbnail paths of your addon
5:Once you're finished, click "Upload"

I've been thinking about picking this up, but the way people are talking about the combat worries me.
I loved the combat in HL1, one of the best parts of the game IMO, and if this game's combat/gameplay feels really off and unsatisfying, as I've heard a few people say, I'm afraid it won't live up to my expectations.
Does anyone know how to get mods placed in the addons / custom folders to work again? The latest update apparently broke the addons / custom folders.

Put this somewhere in the searchpaths section of your gameinfo.txt
game+mod bms/custom/*
Is the dev team ever going to change the Alien Controller (or alternatively, Houndeye) sounds?
The Controllers sound way too much like the sounds used for Houndeyes, which makes the LC reactor battle kind of annoying, since it leads to the player spinning around looking for non-existent Houndeyes whilst getting raped by the controllers' energy balls. I can't imagine this problem would be any less annoying when we eventually get to visit Xen. Am I the only one who has a problem with this? One of these two NPCs really should have new sounds made for it, so that they'll sound more distinct from one another.

Good news everyone, it turns out all those times my workshop tool was crashing that it was working after all, my items were just hidden. The crowbar will be visible on the workshop soon enough, and of course thank you for your help everyone.

I rigged Lamarr's shotgun to the regular shotgun, it works fairly well.
It works for me. Maybe you should look this image which tells you how to fix it.

Cal could just ask Crypt if he could, I did for my .44, the release is just waiting for BM mod sorting to be a thing so it'd consistently load over Crypt's model with the default .357.

Oh that should be easy, both hands use the same bone structure. The only problem is that it wouldn't overwrite the crowbar if you already had crypt's hands installed through the workshop.

If he'd rather do it I still have the smd files.
I gave Sage the appropriate SMDs for the arms since he asked and he did it himself, IIRC (was months ago). Crowbar Collective plans on releasing the model source files so we don't have to decompile and hope nothing breaks, so I've been waiting on those myself.

Valve recently added a way to add custom Steam Controller touch menu icons for your game if you're a developer.
To the developers: Can you add the current weapon icons to the Steam Controller touch menu icons?
It's impossible to find anything that fits the Gluon Gun or the Tau Cannon or the Snarks, so it would be nice if we had touch menu icons for them.
