So that's the timeframe. If stuff works out, HD Sleeve update out on 11th/12th. If not, I'm probably just done w/ BM modding until it's out of EA, or until the custom content situation is sorted. Seems the guys are racking their brains with that right now. Which I gotta emphasize I totally get, the game's not finished so there's gonna be a bumpy road. I signed up for brokenness when I bought an EA game and I'm willing to wait for things to work smoothly. no h8
We've got our workshop programmer looking into the way that BMS mounts VPKs, he said he found some issues with it the other day. We're specifically using the VPK you sent us to try and test the mounting and get everything working. What a nightmare. Hopefully it will be resolved at some point soon - I don't think we're planning on waiting for CU5 for this fix - I think it will be a hotfix if it goes according to plan.
Any word on Xen? I played back when it was first released (and free), and waiting since then rather than try out each patches.

Very recently it's been announced their aiming for summer 2017, and they posted 2 map comparisons between HL1 and BM. Go back a few pages.
Reinstalling fixed my crash but it's back again for no reason. I set a deadline this shit can't be happening now of all times, can anyone explain why the universe hates me
I am trying to make suit to looks more classic:
1)I extended shoulders or armor, but I cant compile it as a static prop and need a help

I did not change the lower part of the hole, so that the hands will move the same as before. I just increased the width of the upper body
Is it me or is mp totally dead?
Hey Crypt ! Can you remake the HEV Suit from Hazard Course for men ? I think that you guys created best hl1 suit
Is it me or is mp totally dead?
It's almost like HL style multiplayer (which was never anywhere close to as popular as TF and CS) wasn't going to get any traction when people are playing TF2, CS:GO...

I know it's probably just faulty translation, but "hazard course for men" sounds like some sort of natural male enhancement.

I mean suit for Freeman and for Multiplayer
Gina's HEV suit was made by Michael Tannock, the most wildly talented 3D guy on our team. Not entirely sure he has interest in working on a male version (he was working on a brand new design but we had to can it because time constraints). Not only that, he's swamped with work from his and our other projects and on top of that the suit is actually much lower poly and detail than most other BM models of that size because it was a hologram and wouldn't need as much detail, so he'd need to essentially redo everything, not just reproportion. It's a huge workload, I don't expect he'd be down for it. I'll still pass along the idea for you just giving you a heads-up that I don't expect it'll happen.

I appreciate this far more than I should
doing my newest run and it's pretty solid so far.
crowbar range buffed to HL2-ish
v_models bob around like HL2 so you can actually see the arms
framerate issue fixed in early maps post-experiment (those terrible strobing lights)
the part with those hanging green boxes in a pit were made solid. good. source phys are ass when trying to jump from them.
hgrunts can't bob you if they're reasonably far.
will report more as I get through

Uh, yeah, about that. Did anyone ever find a fix for that bug where the v_models were bobbing to quickly? I tried to fix it by setting cl_bobcycle to 0 and now I just don't get view bobbing at all. I've uninstalling and reinstalling bm just to try and fix it but nothing seems to work. I know this has been brought up a couple of times now but it's really starting to bother me. I don't know if it helps but I've heard that people have been having similar problems in cs:go.

I think I found a fix while messing around in the console, you can change cl_bobcycle to 0.05 and it should look good.

So I'm finally playing this and am at Office Complex.
Is it just me, or did the crate platforming segment in Anomalous Materials serve no purpose? I got through it and retraced my steps like three times and it looks like at the ladder leaving the sewage segment just leads to a hallway that goes straight to the elevator to Office Complex, with the crate segment being a weird sidepath.
It's an attempt at making the facility feel more complete and real by connecting areas. The original game did similar. You do have to take the "crate-smashing" room but it connects with previous hallways.
This type of stuff actually happens all throughout Half-Life. "Wow, if that ONE LOCKED DOOR hadn't been locked, I could've saved 2 hours!"
You're right, I just went and replayed it. I either didn't notice the door there or forgot it existed my first time through so it was driving me nuts.
Half-Life should've just been called "Circumvention" tbh
Well I mean, literally the entire chapter "We've Got Hostiles" happens because there's a bit of glass and a locked door between you and the button you wanted to press.

They're like that in HL2 as well.

In HL1, there is a trick (glitch, bug?) where you can get the scientist that normally runs off and blows up to open the door. It is unintended, but can still be done.

I legitimately didn't realise that the first time I played BM. I felt so stupid.

I'm amused that the pizza expense matches the staff expense and is greater than the administrator salary expense in Questionable Ethics, where they experiment on alien life forms.
Can't poke around in dead aliens on an empty stomach!
Maybe they fed the aliens pizza?
I'm pretty sure there's way more to that, they made some kind of big pizza-themed arg where a scientist was using pizzas to launder money or something.

Ah yes, the ARG so hard people outright gave up.
