There are also mop buckets too, that could be part of the problem. But they should be turned over
I always assumed that the real problem was electricity arcing right onto your exposed headbit
So this is a way to get killed in Black Mesa

It didn't have any warning labels, does that mean I get to sue Black Mesa?

You probably signed your life away when you got the job, if their lawyers hadn't thought of everything Black Mesa would have gone bankrupt from the workers' comp decades ago.

What about creating a "hostile work environment", those resonance scientists were always making me uncomfortable, and seemed overly irritated, and now that I think about it barney was always inviting me out for a beer.
Any news?

They're still working on Xen
What about the classic weapons pack by Juniez?
Or maybe HD pack sleeves by Crypt
If only mod authors had some kind of way of...speaking for themselves. Like...through some kind of place on the internet where we can post text from our homes like...a message board or...forum or...something of that description. Do such things exist?
Forgive my totally dickish sarcasm, but I'm sure that if the mod authors wanted to update people on the status of their mods, they would. It's not hard. Hounding them is a likely source of frustration rather than flattery, even if done with the best of intentions.
Feel free to hound me, though. I'll spill the beans on stuff, within reason.

What color would you say is most prevalent in Xen?

Boxers or briefs?

I have an unusual question. Were your artist unable to get their viewmodels to shade the way they wanted in source?
Metals not looking they way they would have intended them to look for example.
It's not unreasonable to ask for an update every now and then when the alternative is pedantically keeping track of the entire thread / multiple sites for a potential update.

Whats your favorite food on the Black Mesa menu?

When the last known word from the mod authors is back in October of last year, I think hounding them now is justified.

3DS Max 2012's performance was just terrible for me and instead of just switching to 2016 and using Wallworm's plugins I took some time to learn C++ and made my own. I want to release the last one and after I do that I'll dedicate some time to working on editing the animations again.
What color would you say is most prevalent in Xen?
Xen's colour pallet changes a lot. Often from map to map. There isn't really a most prevalent colour.
paper or plastic?
Plastic.
Boxers or briefs?
Boxers all the way.

Shading in Source is just generally terrible, but it was great for its time (2004!). Most of our stuff is created with PBR pipelines and then gets depressingly gutted on the way into the engine. It can be very tough to make stuff look the way we want or how it should. Our graphics programmer actually made a PBR based renderer and lightmapped/vertex shader for us to use, but he dropped it for some reason that I can't remember.

Huh. Thought it looked like pbr originally; metalness workflow in particular.
Pbr to Source is always a fun challenge. Mostly because how you do it is through bug abuse rather than intended features.

I'll have to check if the Black Mesa branch has any of the same bugs. If it does abusing them may be of interest to you.
$color2 and material stacking does wonders.

That would've been great :(
I understand how challenging that might be though, source is ancient.
Valve's been sitting on Source 2 for so long.
Where is it, damnit?

Actually come to think of it, I am actually quite curious as to how black mesa would look with PBR. Would you happen to have any screenshots of any of the ingame assets before they were ported to source?
Valve's been sitting on Source 2 for so long.

Not finished yet.
Seriously if the artists have any material lying around and they happen to get some spare time eventually, I'd love to see this too.
Some of the new models in retail have this really odd and fake looking quality to them and I'm not sure if it's because of the artist(s) that built and painted them or if Source just botches everything once you get it into the game. They've got this really weird quality or shading to their texture and I don't really know how to describe it.
I'm mainly talking about world objects and models for the environments more than anything else.
By PBR pipeline they probably mean that many of the artists work with substance or quixel or other, which comes with a library of physically calibrated materials which don't look so good in source. I guess you can say that would be a fault of the source engine, but at the same time I'm not sure if it's such a good idea to insist on such an incompatible workflow instead of respecting and working with the source engine's limitations.

If the last known word from mod authors on their mods was back in October of last year, it's safe to assume that no, there's no news.
What about the classic weapons pack by Juniez?
On my end, there's only really the crossbow to finish texturing, then the rest should be source-specific material tweaking, but they already look pretty good in their current state. I want to look into including Thanez's really good revolver model to round out the set (that would make the replacement pack include every weapon except the throwables & aliens), but that would be totally up to Game Zombie.
I forgot to back up all in-game assets and lost them, but the diligent rigger & fixer Game Zombie luckily had all the latest working versions on hand. If it were not for him, they probably would have been gone for good. lol.
