quite a few props got new models as well, they added a marine variant of the Zombie, though IIRC it is essentially just the normal zombie with a new model. All the weapons have new animations.
So I asked in the forums about making a new main menu with higher resolutions and gamepad in mind and got a reply from our boy textfam :
This is in the works already, hopefully to be deployed with the Xen update. We have an entire, extensive UI overhaul built with controller support in mind.
Good for me and others that like to play games on a tv sometimes
That would be great for in home streaming
That would be great for in home streaming
Half-Life 2 at 5K when In-Home Streaming is pain
Why would you stream at 5k?
Why would you stream at 5k?
The stream itself is in 1080p, but the game is in 5k. When playing on a 1440p monitor it looks great (super-sampling)

zombie soldier is a zombie barney reskin so a little more hp than standard zombie but nothing more special
I need some ideas, how can I make this better?
So I've got a hankering to run through Black Mesa again, but I'd like to wait until Xen releases to play the whole campaign over. Are there any fan made maps and/or mini campaigns any of you would recommend? I'm going to give Hazard Course: After Disaster a try first.
Had no idea there were map packs for BM  anyone have a list or something
Had no idea there were map packs for BM  anyone have a list or something
There's not a lot, but RTSL just had a contest for making some and their site has a download for them.
Okay... I tried a different approach. I'm a nostalgic guy, especially when it comes to HL1 so much that I'm anxious (REALLY ANXIOUS) for the Juniez pack, so I'm trying to give a more "HL1-ish" mood to Black Mesa in textures and etc, and I decided to make these older computers close to the style of HL1, in color scheme (I still have to edit the tapes and bump maps) Ps.: Maybe I should make the buttons black or dark yellow?

There was always something a bit off with how 'new' some of the equipment seemed. Give some of those machines more grunge near where they meet the floor, since I'm sure plenty would have collected over the years.

A motif that CC nailed was the difference between equipment between divisions of the facility. Of course, Anomalous Materials had older PCs and equipment, CRTs etc. but by the time you reach Questionable Ethics the equipment is much more modern - LCD screens, HDTVs, etc.
I release my chargers in gamebanana (I tried in workshop but no sure if works, how the hell black mesa publisher works?) Download Link: https://gamebanana.com/skins/157158
This thread (and BM modding in general) has been pretty dead lately, has not it?
This thread (and BM modding in general) has been pretty dead lately, has not it?
i guess everyone is waiting for xen.
i guess everyone is waiting for xen.
I mean do we really have any particular reason to believe it's coming within the more or less immediate future? I've kind of fallen out of the loop on this.
I mean do we really have any particular reason to believe it's coming within the more or less immediate future? I've kind of fallen out of the loop on this.
"We know that this is not what anyone would want to hear, but after taking a long and hard look at what we want to achieve, we have decided that this is for the best. We do not want to compromise on Xen's quality in any way. That said, we consider December to be a do-or-die deadline." - BM devs So let's hope someone finishes it after they commit mass-suicide.
This thread (and BM modding in general) has been pretty dead lately, has not it?
I don't think modders see much point in spending hours creating and compiling content just to have it broken with an update. I would assume the modding scene will come back around the release of xen.
So is the possibility of a co-op mod long dead? I was looking foreword to that, eventually.
So is the possibility of a co-op mod long dead? I was looking foreword to that, eventually.
You can play coop by hosting a multiplayer server on singleplayer maps.
I don't think modders see much point in spending hours creating and compiling content just to have it broken with an update. I would assume the modding scene will come back around the release of xen.
Well, you're right in this regard, though, I'll continue to make some retexts, at least as long as crowbar collective does not remodel some props, I find it interesting to retexturize some props for a more classic/realistic look. In time... MOAR STUFF Ps.: I will do more work on the copy machine, suggestions please
This thread (and BM modding in general) has been pretty dead lately, has not it?
About as dead as black mesa multiplayer, which is a HUGE shame... There's only one server I've seen so far that fills up to have 3-4 players, other than that they're all <ALWAYS> empty... I just wanted to play HL:DM but with BM's graphics ;-;
Are there any Steam groups that could coordinate multiplayer sessions by creating events?
Is this particle system going to be improved? The smoke sprites look awfully repetitive and it all should be a bit more spread rather than a nearly perfect smoke pillar. [t]https://i.imgur.com/i9M0WWu.jpg[/t]
The particles in general I feel could do with a rework, if not an overhaul. The effects in BMS to me always felt pretty boring and not utilizing the potential the engine has. Check out the HL1-styled explosions on the workshop, someone found the explosion effect Valve used in ‘98 and made it in HD.
