Black Mesa V6 - 'Not sure about the shotgun'-edition

Honestly the whole giving the Black Mesa guy's shit over the release of xen is a bad meme used by shitty people.
Yeah it's not like they're a billion dollar software corporation run by a rich asshole, they're a bunch of (highly skilled) hobbyists doing it for the love of the project.

So about that December release date...
Straight to the bad news: we are pushing back the release of Xen. We are truly sorry for getting everyone's hopes up and then delaying... again. We worked very hard to make December, but we are not yet ready. As a team, we take FULL responsibility for that. We have an internal deadline we are confident in, and we will be getting everyone more details as we get closer to that date.
Doesn't really grind my gears to be honest. It'll be out when it's out. They will still be upgrading the engine in the December update, so there's that to look forward to at least.

eh
While not having Xen is sad, I am excited about the graphical updates shown in the blog post.
Don't just read what Dr. Cola and Chrille posted people, actually open the link, there is some neat stuff in there.

Well
I don't know guys, I was sure they would release it as promised. I get the scepticism, I too watched the OG mod get developed since 2005, but the way they announced it this time makes me think they'll release it
Probably footage from a scrapped/changed release trailer.
The day/night cycle doesn't really make sense. Imagine getting out of Questionable Ethics to a night time Surface Tension. Or launching the satellite during daytime. These are pretty iconic moments, fucking with them may not be a good idea

Good to have the PC Gamer previews in better quality.
First one looks like some kind of weird Hivehand nest thing? Really loving the organic tech vibe going on here.

Hello Black Mesa fools!
We cum into your mouth once again with no update. It's now the end of 2017, and we know many of you bitchs have literally counted the days down until this fateful mindfuck. We are floored by the level of idiocy you have given us and are very excited we're so close to reaching the G-point of your momma's.
Unfortunately, to our great enjoyment, Black Mesa XEN will not make a 2999 release.
Haters may now rejoice, death notes may be collected, and I think a mod team member has to eat your girlfriend's pussy, but we hope our loyal dumbass fanbase will forgive us and realize that the delay will translate into a better final anal rape that's (ecsaticly) more easily painful to him.
Once again we do not apologize for what has to be very disappointing and amateurish work. We placed a "never release alive" deadline on ourselves to flagellate us and bring this 2000 year project to a close. And while we didn't quite make it with our fucktards followers, we have come very close and you can expect a complete, polished orgasm to hit your girlfriend's vagina in the near future. We'll be sure and update if anything changes. Until then, you're so tight fans, it's cuming!
Hey, hey, I've a good one :
Q : What's the difference between BMS and a rotting corpse in the closet, forgotten by all?

Are you drunk right now sarevokh?
Aww, I thought they said December was their "do or die" date. Ah well. Maybe we'll get the classic weapons pack and Xen at the same time....
Guess that answers that question then! No bother, I've waited a long time and I can wait a little longer. Pretty sure some of the devs visit this forum, so keep up the awesome work guys and I can't wait to play it.

Show me on the doll where the Black Mesa team touched you.
Aww, I thought they said December was their "do or die" date. Ah well. Maybe we'll get the classic weapons pack and Xen at the same time....
We did say that. Which made it all the more painful when we realised we were going to have to take the "die" option.
Jokes aside, we were confident in our ability to hit the December release date, when we announced it. That's why we announced it, because we felt we owed it to you guys to be a bit less vague, especially given that people have spent money on the game. However, it may have been a mistake. Missing the deadline has been pretty painful for everyone involved, ourselves included.
It's not a mistake we will repeat again. For now, we're gonna keep our heads down and crunching to get this out the door...when it's done.
...when it's done.
I expect no less. Never stoop down to the levels of modern games. Then again, you always have been more than just another Source Mod.
Keep it going Chon!
What's that saying? A delayed game is delayed once, but a bad game is bad forever? Take yer time.
What's that saying? A delayed game is delayed once, but a bad game is bad forever? Take yer time.
What a stupid saying, a bad game can become good with improvements.

You only get one first impression.

Yeah that's it!
What a stupid saying, a bad game can become good with improvements.
Oh yeah? Well, you're a stupid saying ;_;
No but really, I think it depends. If a game is designed badly at a fundamental level there's no coming back from that. Taking the time to actually whittle it down like a sculpture to show it's true potential though?

Dam, I'm not gonna lie I was really hyped about this release, but if you guys think it needs more time then that's fine with me. I have good faith that whatever you end up releasing It'll be of exceptionally high quality, after all, everything you've worked on thus far has been.
Also don't worry about the fact that people have paid for the game, As far as I'm concerned Black Mesa is easily worth $20 in it's current state (but don't get any ideas about releasing xen as DLC *jokes*).

you guys fixed up that rocked particle effect that I whined about earlier in the thread and now I feel special.

We haven't done anything to the particle effect! It just has an accompanying dynamic light (with godrays and casts shadows) and a lens flare. I set that up myself in fact. It was a decent amount of work, but worth the payoff, it looks superb! The system before was relying solely on the particle effect and a baked light, which is why it didn't look too amazing.
Sad that it's delayed :( Oh well better see Nihilanth and Gonarch explode with lens flare effects loool

Were those window marks (in the image) in the current build?
Also, is radioactive goo gonna be dynamic light and lensflare-y?

I know you must probably get a ton of questions like these, so apologies in advance, but one thing that really, really bothers me about the current Black Mesa build is the issues with dead bodies ending up all twisted and warped or standing in a T-pose after you load a save with corpses around. Happens with dead Marines, Vortigaunts and Alien Grunts from what I can tell.
It's a really severe visual issue that kind of ruins it for me in some areas, and I know there was supposed to be a fix for it in one of the patches, but it hasn't worked for me and many others. Any news on whether you managed to finally fix those problems for good? Is is something that would require Valve's help?
Not to beat a dead horse but, are you guys fixing the gibbing to be like MP and adding a gibbing sound in the december update?
