So how far along IS xen? I know they'd be wary of giving out dates after having to delay the "do or die" date, but that's not a problem with giving projections to begin with, that's a problem with GUARANTEEING dates. Better to give regular estimates with a disclaimer that game development isn't an exact science and delays are likely, than to promise a date and then go silent when there's a delay. Look at how Subnautica does it, they have their expected release date for updates on their Trello well before update, but if it gets delayed, no sweat, they just push it back.

Well I can't see it being too far off if they were initially planning to release it this month but I'm just being optimistic. The devs said there'll be more news about xen when the update ships so we'll be able to see what they were doing and get a better estimate there.
Not sure if this is only on my end, but if a sniper is alive in the map you're in, the game thinks he's firing each time you shoot the crossbow, and the respective sound plays on top of the regular one.
It also seems to play two sounds at once each time they actually shoot, as well. Silencing "sniper1_close" seems to fix both issues.

As long as we're on the subject of sound bugs can we talk about the fact that the crossbows firing sound is bugged? It still uses the sound from the original model which would retract the string automatically. Now when you fire the crossbow you can hear the string snap back and then you hear Gordon pulling it into place after that. It's a fairly easy fix, just use the "single_noreload.wav" sound for the main firing sound as well as the last shot.

This combined with the nearmiss sound effects playing for 90% of the shots you take with the crossbow means the thing is so aurally confusing to use
In all fairness the devs have said in the past that the crossbow has been a nightmare to code.
According to their facebook page the December update will be hitting steam beta "soon"
People shit on CC for not making the due-or-die date, but you have to admire their dedication and love for this game that's been in the works for so many years, especially with the timezone differences between developers that makes it hard to communicate.
I'm more than happy to see what they have in store for us at the very end.
Update is out on public beta btw.

I think they changed the hand animations when getting in the HEV suit.
Mind you the reference I looked at was from 2 years ago, it's possible it changed since before now and after that video.

I'm going to be double guessing any changes I think I see since it's been a few months since I played most of it.
Looking at the changelog there's a lot more changes/fixes than I thought there would be. Seems pretty significant. Weeeelp time for another playthrough and then waiting for Xen to finally drop in...hopefully spring maybe?

Oh and there's new models for a knockback and suicide houndeye as well as a damaged version of Gonarch which I think gives away to how were fighting her differently. [sp] The arms are smaller so I assume we shoot her legs this time[/sp]
