Oh I'm pretty sure Brian posted some pictures of that asteroid a while back in his dev blog. The fact that they're posting is exciting though.

Well, looks like this is pretty dead lately, so I decided to make a simple reskin for office worker (very very beta/wip) to looks more natural. Well, at this point, almost everyone knows that I'm a fan of classic / oldschool content, I tried to recreate the scientist's alpha / beta color scheme, although I'm not very happy with the result because I hurried (I'm sick of stomach and poorly concentrated) So, this is the result:
UPDATE: I uploaded the Romka Grunts in Gamebanana, have some bugs, but if anyone want to fix I will be very gratefull https://gamebanana.com/skins/160751 RELEASED:freakout:
Nice work, glad to have the troops back in their PCVs. Now we just need someone to mod these into zombies for the zombie hecu boys.

I don't know how to work on anims and stuff, and I'm not a modeller, If I know I would fix the issues and create some gibs (if I have time too), but I'm good with textures. Probaly tomorrow, if my friend agrees, I will upload classic Barney too.
jesus christ, finally get around to playing the Steam version and the Marines are grinding my face into mulch they destroyed my battery energy and half of my health in the We've Got Hostiles vent rope ambush in the span of a second and a half, and that's just with what I managed to carry with me through the rest of the chapter since they do way too much damage regardless of how far they are
Yeah marines in Black Mesa suck and they're the best enemy in HL1. Don't think CC will do much about it though.
Yeah marines in Black Mesa suck and they're the best enemy in HL1. Don't think CC will do much about it though.
They’ve been toned down I think in the beta update
They're pretty much unmodified combine soldier AI, except with far better accuracy due to the Mp5s. This means they carry over the suicidal shotgun solider tactics from HL2, where they'll rush you and get right up in your face, then take away all your suit energy and 50% of your HP with a couple of shots. Their pinpoint accuracy makes them a pain in the ass to fight, as they can hit you the moment you come out of cover at nearly any distance, the fight at the end of Questionable Ethics is hard as nails because of how many soliders there are, and how much damage they deal in such short time. Basically, a lot of stuff needs to be balanced still, especially those kamikaze shotgun soldiers.

is it just me being delusional or didn't only crates with green tarps have items in the original half life? If I'm not wrong, why change the system so that any crate can drop items, but at a much lower rate in comparison? it just seems that I'm taking a lot more time breaking more crates then I should, and getting much less in return at the same time, and with how deadly the soldiers are in black mesa, It's getting really annoying.

The crates without tarps also sometimes had items in them though
I seem to remember that being the case specifically with OpFor but not necessarily the others. It may vary depending on the game/expansion. Also am I the only one who finds it hilariously ridiculous that crates big enough to hold a refrigerator contain only a tiny carton of .357 ammunition?
Also am I the only one who finds it hilariously ridiculous that crates big enough to hold a refrigerator contain only a tiny carton of .357 ammunition?
Bonus: It's not even a full carton.
Bonus: It's not even a full carton.
Budget cuts are so severe you can only carry 12 rounds in reserve.
Why does that crystal look so tasty?
Budget cuts are so severe you can only carry 12 rounds in reserve.
How many Magnums are found with security guards? I remember the first one is at the end of Blast Pit but I don't know about the others. I guess they weren't widely distributed around Black Mesa.
Come to think of it Black Mesa had a lot more armaments than it did actual research equipment lying around. What the hell are these white collar labworkers in office complex doing with all this shotgun ammo in the first place? Maybe Black Mesa is staffed by cost-padding managers who all go hunting together on weekends. I could see half a dozen gun nut suits buying crates of buckshot as a "business expense" and then driving out into the desert to shoot armadillos with it.
I still find it funny that they give out weaponized exoskeletons built for off-world exploration to other parts of the facility to use as radiation suits You would imagine that at one point some employee that doesn't know about aliens would go "wait, what exactly do I need a 'defensive weapon storage system' for"
You would imagine that at one point some employee that doesn't know about aliens would go "wait, what exactly do I need a 'defensive weapon storage system' for"
snacks and trinkets

If you knew that the place you were working in developed things for the government, and that your section mostly ran from leftovers from newer parts of the facility, it wouldn't be too far-fetched that your smart suit (which in Gordon's place was probably used for monitoring his vitals while he was in the test-chamber) would have the option to keep weapons.
snacks and trinkets
Now all I'm picturing is Otis slipping into an HEV suit "Do you know who ate all the donuts?" *camera pans to otis shoving donuts in HEV suit compartments*
Now all I'm picturing is Otis slipping into an HEV suit "Do you know who ate all the donuts?" *camera pans to otis shoving donuts in HEV suit compartments*
I'm actually wondering on how/why the suit recognized snarks and the bee-shooter as weapons. There's even lines for fvox, "unidentified bio-weapon".
I'm actually wondering on how/why the suit recognized snarks and the bee-shooter as weapons. There's even lines for fvox, "unidentified bio-weapon".
Maybe it thinks everything is a weapon.
Maybe it thinks everything is a weapon.
But everything *is* a weapon.
