What if the move was holding them away and they didnt want to release a big update with a "disabled moving week" glooming in the unknown future which would prevent them from fixing bad bugs? If we go after this, we can partly blame Valve's management team for the delay and we will get the update as soon as next week :v: EDIT : monoPOLY BOYS It arrives in October. [t]https://files.catbox.moe/ci2mqv.png[/t] :disgust:
Monopoly's nice and all but I think I prefer the good old Teams and Fortresses. Can't beat that turnless gameplay.
My monopoly shaped heart says Yes but my wallet says no. I will eagerly await the tabletop simulator version.
Apparently it can be made to arrive in the USSR though: Maybe try typing "West Germany" instead
Why not "Holy Roman Empire" in that case
I see they base the shipping prices for EU on the awfulness of update/blog post times for EU Man this always kills my urge to buy tf2 merch, its all based in merica and thus EU gets punched in the nuts when trying to acquire this garbage
Well screw you too jake am I not special enough for you or something
Feel like this is gonna screw people over who got their items scammed out of them because "i delet my achievement item giv back." and they'll just stop responding to actual issues.
It's not why they shouldn't communicate, they're fair reasons as to why they aren't communicating. It doesn't excuse the lack of communication, but I'm not going to hold the team in contempt for it. Communication with such a large audience is so complex it's its own career, and you're already well aware of why they do not have someone dedicated to that. What would help them is if you could be more specific since "communication" is incredibly vague. What do you want the communication to achieve? What do you need to know, why do you need to know it, is it an ideal time to know it, and would knowing it be beneficial to everyone? As for the software comparison, it still doesn't excuse anyone acting childish and lashing out when things aren't going their way. Both developer and user want a better product, and hostility does more harm than good. Cooperation, understanding, and respect are key for both sides. Generally, developers can filter through comments, but shitpost or not, personal attacks aren't okay. Public figures throwing out misinformation and inciting conflict don't help either. Not to mention the people out there willing to go to extreme lengths to harass over the pettiest of reasons. Would knowing why really help? Knowing development, this will only give new information that introduces even more concerns. If there's no information, it'll feel like empty reassurance.
Yes, knowing would help manage expectations. It would go a long way in curtailing that dreaded hyperbolic obloquy from anxious customers. This shouldn't be debatable at all; uncertainty causes panic, leads to outlandish expecations, and yes, aggravates several people to the point where they start flinging insults and sarcastic comments.
On the topic of communication. They improved their communication in CSGO scene, alot, they listen to community, balance weapons in favor of community, etc. Why can't TF2 also have this? Don't both games have almost the same number of devs? Damn even CSGO Twitter account replies to tweets now.
The valve move is happening today so dont expect anything until next week
Maybe the Board game is too "brutal" so they have to push out a censored version
Yeah, It's funny how German version of TF2 has gibs censored
Generally, developers can filter through comments, but shitpost or not, personal attacks aren't okay. Public figures throwing out misinformation and inciting conflict don't help either. Not to mention the people out there willing to go to extreme lengths to harass over the pettiest of reasons.
The beauty of the internet is simple and easy to understand. You interact with it on your own terms. No one can force you to do anything. Not even physically. If you can't figure how to click off/block/hide something how the hell would you ever get by working a fast food / retail job that directly interacts with people? These same assholes exist everywhere you go. Instead of trying to tell people how to act, I think we should let them figure it out on their own that their behavior won't garner the attention they want by simply ignoring it.
The difference is that with fast food you get like a few dozen interactions a day, and a small amount of those will be arseholes. With someone whose work is open to the internet, you get a front seat to all the people with access to a computer, and all the people who want to be an arsehole to you can, and will, try to make sure you notice. You can't ignore it without stopping the use of social media sites like twitter and forums, you can't ignore email if you need to check it, you can't block harassers without listening to them to know they're harassing you. You can not respond, of course, but that won't do anything. People will still do it either way, and you'll still read it, and thanks to the miracle of the internet it's unavoidable - and we're past the point where you can tell someone to just not use parts of the internet since it's such an integral part of life and work for a lot of people. If a dev gets abuse from trying interaction, no matter the ratio of positive to negative responses, it makes perfect sense to stop the interaction if that means people will stop whining to you over dumb shit.
How much longer can the community last before giving up? Would another 3 months do it in?
How much longer can the community last before giving up? Would another 3 months do it in?
There's some part of community who already gave up. There's also part of the community that will never give up, since we're still having fun playing TF2 :)
Some part of the community will never leave trade_ and vsh_ servers.
I know a guy who spent over 1000 hours on hide and seek servers
I know a guy who spent over 1000 hours on hide and seek servers
Some say he's still hiding out there somewhere to this day.
Can we talk about the crates that are still in the drop system? I'm talking of course about the #91 and #92 ones I still find #92 was added in the March 12th 2015 Patch While #91 was added in the February 11th 2015 Patch These Crates are now 2 and a half years old And according to the wiki, the #82/83 that were added in April 2014, and the #84/85 added in August 2014 are still active If so, these ones are 3 years to 3 and a half years old Isn't it time Valve retires these now
dude I just want my Eureka Effect strangifier already it's my favorite wrench and it's fucking criminal that it is in an infinite limbo of "can't be strange even though all of the other grordbort weapons can"

Meanwhile on (yesterday) /v/: [t]https://i.imgur.com/6Uq35b4.png[/t] The Post of the Year 2014 was drawn up and immortalized (finally) after a long discussion on cringe traders. Speaking of trading: What is the item you are most happy you traded for? My favorite has to be a tie between the Strange Pan or my Purple Heavy loadout.
Steam Dev Days for 2017 (and most likely 2018) have been canceled. Truly a concerning year for all things Valve.
Steam Dev Days for 2017 (and most likely 2018) have been canceled. Truly a concerning year for all things Valve.
Well, it is said they are moving, so yeah, it Steam Dev Days would make sense to be cancelled this year. But next year? Oh my.

Anyway, so much for September; I guess I'll celebrate my birthday sad and alone.
Greg Coomer at previous Dev Days: We probably going to announce something next time. Wait, we don't need to announce anything if we just cancel all next Dev Days. P.S. I know that it isn't exactly what he said.

Extremely glad that I did, stranges never appealed to me so I don't know why even had them, plus the game is really fucking good.
