I just watched someone who was streaming Cuphead for 9 hours straight without breaks, so whatever it is it's definitely longer then that.
any particular genre of music you especially like to listen to when playing TF2?
This is over a year straight of playing team fortress 2.
I wonder what's the longest record for a gaming session, or TF2 session?
I think someone played WoW for a few weeks without breaks and died

Songs 1-10 are rap, 11-18 are diff forms of electronic (generally aggressive outrun), 19 and 20 transition from hard-hitting electronic to more traditional punk, which is maintained up to 22, 23-30 hop genres across dance-rock/electropop/indie rock, 31-38 are almost all alt-metal, and everything culminates with 39-43 doing some pretty traditional punk and alt-rock.
I like my music a lot.
EDIT: oh damn it a lot of my songs were uploaded by me to GPM, so they won't show in the public playlist
here's the actual list:

i have a playlist of numerous assorted video game and anime tracks and have been starting a playlist specifically for breakbeat
both I listen to regularly
I'd listen more often in TF2 if the round start/round end music could be disabled
I'd have this any my brother's other music on my breakbeat playlist if it were on youtube
i sometimes listen to metal while playing mvm, other than that generally no music
got a tiny bit more than 5k hours, most of them in real games. It'd probably be alot more if I didn't promise myself I wouldn't play until the jungle update hit back in May, of course I thought it would only be a week or two until it would release, but damn I really want to play.

if ur gonna play mvm at least make sure it's industrial
Whenever I play TF2 I listen to whatever I'm interested tbh, whether it be a random OneyPlays video or an actual song.
i have 3600 hours with 3500 having mouse accel on.
I use very tiny mouse acceleration, I actually used to have it off up to 2015, but then I tried it out with a very low setting and liked it, I've been using it since the day I enabled it and I enable it the similar way if other games have it.
In other news I noticed that TF2 is the 4th most played game on steam right now (but not the highest peak of players) normally I see it hang around 5th or 6th but today it's 4th.

I know things tend to be pretty doom and gloom around here for good reasons but I also think it's important to remember how well TF2 is going for a multiplayer game approaching 10 years old.
TF2 isn't dead, it's just not at a level community knows it can be at, and I think that's where a lot of the disappointment comes from.

No amount of valve neglect can ruin the core elements, which will be fun for as long as steam remains open for business.
For the past six years, any time I'm around a computer I've been able to launch a match of badwater gunboats roamer or soviet beeftank while I frag away the stresses of real life.
No matter how many updates the game gets, that will always be fun.

Normally I wouldn't dream of sacrificing the advantage of audio cues for a good tune, but when that update at last arrives, I will heavily consider listening to a triumphantly malevolent track in harmonic minor.
I usually listen to this when playing tf2
I'm surprised no one posted VNN's shocking expose on what the TF2 team is currently working on:
I actually don't listen to music when playing TF2. In fact, on all-talk servers if people are yapping too much, I mute voice chat. I rely too much on sound queues to know what's going on. I used a balanced headphone amp and it soundstage is really wide. I can hear a Pyro fart from across the map in 2Fort. I wish TF2 had a better sound engine, actually. Sometimes it's hard to tell if I'm hearing something upstairs or outside. I have to use game sense to spot the difference.
I wish TF2 had a better sound engine, actually.
I'm just gonna latch onto this bit and complain about how the demoman charge noise doesn't move with the demoman and it's one of the most annoying things good lord
On another note though, when dicking around on a map with no soundscape or general noise (like testing custom wip maps) I've come to appreciate the way sounds work in TF2 depending on where you are - not just different noises depending on the material you're on, but if you're in an enclosed space the sounds reflect that with the echoing and muffled sounds making it feel like you're in an enclosed hallways. Same with open spaces, the sounds you make aren't muffled and have delayed distant echos.
Hadn't noticed that before, and it really helps the feel of the game.
If we are doing play time in TF2, let me show you this guy:

This is 'Fire' owner of the Fire Friendly servers
332.9 hours past 2 weeks
And there are 336 hours in 2 weeks
So he is in TF2 almost all of the time
Living the dream.
I have 2300 hours, spent most of my time playing garrysmod and dota 2, with 4.5k hours in each of those.
So is Outpost dead? can't even log in anymore.
Well I tried getting my Spiral Sallet and Proof of purchase back, but they won't do it if you crafted them it seems. :s:

That will certainly be interesting and reminded me; Maybe the Update will contain some content that we have already seen before/heard?
Unused content of TF2 ranges far to that BASE jumper MvM thing to "Unlock Crate" Animations.
they will move on to make a card game based on cs:go
they will move on to make a card game based on cs:go
we can't complain, we got a monopoly game
tbh a card game based on TF2 would be fun
If we go the "Choose a Hero and make a Deck" route, the Heroes would be the 9 Classes with their Weapons and Cosmetics being Hero Specific Cards and the rest of the cast (Hale, Announcer, Pauling etc) being AllClass Cards.

I rather have all valve IP in a card game than just one IP. Like ricochet man going against Mr. friendly.

The SSB game of Valve but in cards? Super Source Valveheads the TCG?
How about no card games
