I'm liking the turnaround of mood here, it's nice to see everyone be appreciative of a game they've known and loved for years now, despite the update drought. Good on ya, guys.
I think it's fairly safe to say none of us here hate Valve or TF2 - we're all just extremely passionate (and for some, heavily invested). Obligatory anniversary post - played since 2009, hooked ever since. If Valve hypothetically dropped off the face of the earth but TF2 was still around, I would probably keep playing till the last 24/7 2Fort server empties. I've played all the newest titles and "successors" - I solemnly stand by the opinion that no class-based shooter can do it like TF2.
10 y/o. fuck this game tbh, so many hours spent. no updaterino no money left no unusuals but it ok because TF2 made me happy for a very long time, and continues to do so on a daily basis. thank you tf2, you a real G.
~snip, it was rather rude.~
"Along deserted avenues Steam begins to rise The figures primed and ready Prepared for quick surprise He's watchin' for a sign His life is on the line Dogs whine in the alleys Smoke is on the wind From deep inside its empty shell A cathedral bell begins to toll A storm begins to grow..."
"Happy Birthday Half-Life EP. 2, Portal, and TF2! You get nothing. Fuck you." -Love, Valve. ps: buy shit for dota and csgo
obviously, artifact was our birthday present :suicide:
Wow, ten years already? I cannot believe it! It's been a very fun ten years. I remember the day I was introduced to this game by Kitty0706 through him telling us in his Skype group, and then launching the game for the first time. My eyes opened wide as I saw the brand new world of Team Fortress 2, and selecting Scout as my main class to play, and then pretty much dying every second cause I was such a noob. Things today are pretty much different then what they were ten years ago. I'm now in college, trying to get a degree in Computer Sciences and become a game developer. I also started creating community workshop items 3 years ago, and today, am doing so with a passion I hold close so dearly to my heart. Without this amazing community, I'd never attempt or try to reach the goals I had in mind today, nor try to create content and continue to do so. There are so many people I wanna thank, but I want to flat out just say a big thank you to each and every one of you for being there during the good, bad, and happy-tear-filled moments of joy. I also want to wish the TF Team one hell of a birthday for their game, and to thank them for the amazing game that changed the FPS era forever. You all rock, and Happy Birthday TF2!!! -Bonk Nickeltoon
obviously, artifact was our birthday present :suicide:
I mean if we get some awesome cross-over stuff, I won't have any problem with that (Although I am biased, since I actually like card games)
TF2 is probably the game where I have the best memories out of all. I still can't believe how such a game this fun can be free. +2000 hours and I don't regret it in any way. Even if you dissapoint me now, I will always appreciate you for all the good times. I have never seen a fanbase so active and dedicated about a videogame in my life, there might be rotten apples here and there, but is nothing in comparison. Happy birthday war oriented hat simulator. :toot:
Happy birthday Team Fortress 2, it's was one of my favorite game of all time as a teenager. [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DLyn1VvXcAAyIlI.jpg[/t]
assuming the blog + update comes out on the same day, the blog would have to get posted a couple hours in advance. with tough break, (working off of memory) the blog was posted at around 1pm, and the update came out at around 5-6. i'm really hoping the same applies for today.
Happy Birthday Team Fortress 2! Having been playing with the game for 5 years on Nov. 27th, I was introduced to this game around the time Mann vs.Machine was still in its ARG phase and Gmod Machinimas were at their peak in the odd year of 2011. To believe I've been a community member of such amazing individuals for more then half of the game's current lifespan is absolutely splendid! Too many good memories to ever dampen my view on this game and all of its glory, and clocking in at 4k+ hours, I give a solid salute to everyone who is still here beside me today. Cheers!
Imagine, Ten years ago this was just a game about 9 idiots trying to kill each-other and steal land in the middle of nowhere. Now we've got wizards, aliens, headless horseless horsemen, bumper-cars, Hong Kong, and a literal economy.
I almost got kicked from a ctf match because two people on our team wanted to spam the "We have taken the enemy intel" command and I stepped inbetween them, took the briefcase and capped, so they called a vote on me, but it failed.

No matter what happens today I will still regularly play TF2.
I guess I'll crosspost the video I made to celebrate. Happy 10th everyone!
Happy 10th Anniversary TF2! I hope everyone has an awesome day!

I guess I'll crosspost the video I made to celebrate. Happy 10th everyone!
I forgot you lurked here man. :) I wont be able to make the server event today, gonna be stuck late at work. Hope you guys have fun though.
I really miss the old sticky launcher reload sounds.
I really miss the old minigun muzzleflash particle. EDIT: not the beta unused model, that's ass.
I still have the model muzzleflash mod would probably use that minigun muzzleflash thing if it wasn't so glitchy
I miss no sv_pure and quickplay, I only play on community servers now. Happy birthday, TF2!
Page Monitor just went off, anyone else? EDIT:It was the Update tab that apparently changed, I dont trust Distill.
I forgot you lurked here man. :) I wont be able to make the server event today, gonna be stuck late at work. Hope you guys have fun though.
Haha no worries mate, hopefully we'll be able to play together again soon! :D

Trying to do non-objective silly things and getting pissed when other people have other ideas kinda misses the point for me
It's hard to believe that TF2 is already 10 years old, although I've only been playing it for 8 of them. I have met so many good friends playing the game, I wouldn't be the person that I am today without them. After a year of Overwatch, I've started to miss TF2 more and more, hopefully it's not too late for me to get back into the game like before.
I really miss the old minigun muzzleflash particle. EDIT: not the beta unused model, that's ass.
This is what gets me, why did they have to down grade the minigun muzzle flash like that?
