I mean we know a lot of stuff about the update, ranging from increased level cap to placement matches to non-stock skins etc chill my dude you are acting like contra after 9/6
Increased level caps? Placement matches? You mean things that are bog-standard now we are going to consider mammoth? Holy shit the game is now actually on par with competitors in terms of the bare minimum required for a quickplay system, how mammoth. Oh shit non-stock skins, that'll shake up gameplay and make matches feel more balanced!
yeah, and there's a lot more than 14 months worth of good games out there I'm not saying I'm happy or content with the situation at hand, but that your time would be better served doing something actually fun instead of getting mad on the internet about things none of us have any power to change
I've put 1200 hours on Fallout 4, 200 hours on Overwatch, have done 4-5 runs of DOOM, played ~165 hours of Stellaris, and even started playing CIV 5 again since MyM came out. For the hour or so I talk about TF2 a day I can assure you I've played other shit.
instead of getting mad on the internet about things none of us have any power to change
It's almost like it's the TF2 chat thread or something where we talk about TF2 and perhaps some people are not particularly enjoying the way it's being handled.
While it may be impossible to empirically "know" anything about the update, I think it's extremely reasonable to assume there will be more than 3 balance changes and some cosmetics.
Are there more additions to this update we don't know about yet? The timeline makes me assume.
I really, really hope they did more than just the Pyro balances and some new cosmetics and weapons.
I really, really hope they did more than just the Pyro balances and some new cosmetics and weapons.
We already know there's a lot more than that. A new short Changes to matchmaking (elo, placements) Case changes Source 2(jk) There's definitely going to be even more. I mean, you can't possibly take this long and not have some surprises in store.

Stop acting idiotic. While other people tend to get angry here, their anger is very constructive and has solid reasoning behind it. Your just whining and being negative for the sake of being negative.
I interpreted imminent as "we want it to be out in october". That is the extent of what I believe can be extrapolated in terms of information here. Anything more specific than that is a pipe dream. They didn't make this blogpost to stir up discussion. They made it because even they don't know when the hell it will be ready to ship, so they did what they always do: bide for time.

[Work in Progress list from June] Changes to Casual and competitive Changes to the case system And since they are taking so long, presume they are adding Halloween stuff too And this is just the thing we know about

ELO introduction with inclusion of seasons, a redesigned server browser, and hopefully a larger focus on community servers. I'm expecting everything from MyM to look like a beta to what Mammoth will bring.

What I'm scared of the most about "Mammoth" update is the "Mammoth" amount of bugs Its gonna have.
What I'm scared of the most about "Mammoth" update is the "Mammoth" amount of bugs Its gonna have.
There's also been a "Mammoth" amount of time to fix those bugs

So I got into a game with a hacker once more, nothing new or exciting. Only he initiated a vote kick on me and I got kicked. I'm pretty much left speechless.
There's also been a "Mammoth" amount of time to fix those bugs
Are we just going to be calling this the mammoth update now?
Are we just going to be calling this the mammoth update now?
It's too late... I wonder if they're gonna reference the mammoth on the update page, they did put cool beans on MYM page...
Increased level caps? Placement matches? You mean things that are bog-standard now we are going to consider mammoth?
Although you are being a little overdramatic about it in this post, you are kinda correct here really. The way tf2 quickplay functions is still pretty below par, and overwatch just smashes it in terms of generating good quality gameplay. The real terrible one is the competitive one though, and it's hard to justify that, because at the time competitive modes had been in games for a long time and everyone knows 'how' to do one properly. Even valves other games do competitive fine, so it makes no sense. It shouldn't even have been released. I know all this has been said before, but it's still relevant as long as it stays in the same state, IMO. - That said, even though yesterday I was feeling really negative about it all, and I still don't trust it to be next week the week after, I'm feeling way better about it in general. I'm kinda ready at this point to be wow'ed. Even pyro changes and the rebalances would make it a fat update for me, if it turns out they fix competitive mode it's probably gonna be my top1 update, and I've been here since the 3rd major update, so it's competing with some seriously rose tinted glasses... I don't mind if it takes a long time if it's gonna be good actually. Sticking to my guns aswell, even though everyone disagrees with me. You pyro and spy mains can definitely enjoy tf2s competitive matchmaking. I'll bet anyone I can make it to the top rank playing non-meta classes.
I wonder if they're gonna reference the mammoth on the update page, they did put cool beans on MYM page...
every train is replaced with a mammoth
so I just decided to boot up TF2C to see if anyone was on deathmatch around now, and got in a server with one other guy on Ravine. I walked out from my spawn point and saw, through the underpass beneath the house, the other guy going up the stairs, but he didn't notice me. so I went up the stairs on my side, waited a moment, and fired a rocket into the house. it hit him direct, so he freaks out, grabs the kritz powerup, and starts spamming rockets aimlessly. he misses me twice, and I blow him up. he then asks in the chat, and I quote "HOWQ" "FUCK YOU" and then disconnects only seconds into the start of the match nice

I don't recall then making any concrete statements about future casual or counity server changes
Was a redesigned server browser ever confirmed for this update? I don't recall then making any concrete statements about future casual or counity server changes
I think there was somebody visiting Valve, who said that during the visit there was a mention of some casual (or more like UI changes) where you could do stuff like change your loadout while queuing for a casual game, as well as something about rework server browser although i'm not sure about either of those things.
After realizing that valve basically nuked my raffle bet by not saying this week, but also saying "imminent" and "mammoth" and "we promise", i decided to give the items away anyway because that's the sporting thing to do.
