TF2 General Chat and Speculation Station: Whiteboard Blues - Games

I feel like people are still gonna be surprised by the things they're changing. Christ's sake, they had a blogpost about changing how cases work. 8 taunts is gonna be, like, the least surprising part of the update. Now, the overhaul to the Tutorial system, or the Coaching update, or the revival of Decals/items with sounds, or the revival of Arena, or acknowledging Medieval Mode at all? THAT'S gonna be surprising. Except for the bit where I just speculated about them, making them less surprising now that the possibility has been raised.

oh man. and these are just the taunts being this many, now imagine how much other stuff there will be in the update.

I'm just hoping there are more weapon balance changes. The weapon changes they mentioned in the blog post were all super interesting and they're obviously at least striving to make weapons somewhat viable/more balanced around a middle ground, especially with the Ambassador changes. More stuff like that would definitely be welcome.

8 taunts? 4 jungle themed and 4 halloween themed?

Maybe one of those videos is the new short? EDIT: Oh I didn't see that was a playlist just for taunts.

I stopped being hyped for TF2 updates about 2 or 3 years ago, when all they started adding in updates was stuff you had to buy.

If you're a new player who just started playing TF2 for the first time I imagine the fact you can't easily get a weapon you want feels unfair. I don't think new players should get all weapons unlocked from the start but I think unlocking items for a class the more achievements/time played you have for that class may work pretty well. The only thing is Valve would probably have to stop selling items in the store, and I'm not sure how that would work with the community item creators. When Jewlander visited Valve with Uncle Dane he said on his video that Valve is willing to completely change the economy so we could see changes happen.

I don't expect anything on a Sunday, however Monday is basically confirmed in my eyes to be giving something. I'm just happy it's finally going to be over. This awful wait and void of knowledge will meet it's end next week, and this time for sure. Unless you believe valve puts out those private videos and then waits 2 weeks. The longest wait was Tough break with around 2-3 days. Also just a notice, that video was uploaded well into the night around 23:00 for Valve, how come?

I'm pretty sure Tough Break and Gun Mettle were much faster.

You know what. After looking at it, that seems... Unusual. We might be on to something after all.

So, is anyone hoping for something today? I find it strange in the first place that such videos went up around 1 AM for valve, but what would be even stranger is a day 1 on a sunday, no? Strong doubts on my side, but as far as I know, this is the first time we got private videos outside Valve-working times.

I guess they uploaded the videos and made them private to see how they fit into the Update Page
