Have anyone ever heard of these things: https://www.evike.com/products/67104/ I love picking up TF2 merchandise but I've never heard of these at all. They call two classes "assault" and "support". Has anyone purchased anything similar to this?
:toxx: the update is coming out today
So if we get a Day1/X Post without the update itself coming out, do you get banned or not?
So, do you guys think Pyro will finally become the 4th generalist in TF2? This would require the following: 1. High skill ceiling, even with the Flamethrower (fix visual inconsistency with flame hitboxes). 2. High mobility (airblast jump/medic movement speed [unrelated edit: make airblast not be a skillless stunlock]) 3. High damage potential (straight buff to Flamethrower dps) I think the TF2 Team realizes that all these things are required to make Pyro viable full-time in 6v6, likely replacing one of the Scouts. How they'll do that (specifically the mobility part) is unknown. For instance, they, instead of giving Pyro something that allows the class to ALWAYS have high mobility (like an airblast jump), give Pyro a weapon that increases his mobility significantly (the jet flamethrower, Afterburner). The problem with this is that it means a 6s full-time Pyro can't use anything else. That shouldn't happen. Who knows if the team decides to actually buff the Flamethrower's damage directly (from ~150 to ~300 is what I'd do, personally [and reduce the flame hitboxes from boxes to simple points, though some argue it won't do anything]). If they do, I hope they get rid of the "fire makes healing bad" attribute that's pretty arbitrary. Keep it simple. As for Pyro's skill ceiling, this is a difficult topic. If you watch Sketchek's old videos where he Axtinguishes Pyros in midair as if he's using the market gardener, you know that in some ways, Pyro has a crazy skill ceiling. (of course, the axtinguisher can't do that anymore, but you know..) The problem is that stuff like that is completely inaccessible to those who don't practice that stuff by itself for hours and hours. I don't know. I feel like there's some way Pyro's skill ceiling could be raised significantly, like idk... Increasing time that flames stay in the air? You might think it's a pretty arbitrary change, but let me explain. If you're good at Pyro, you know that the reason the class works in Casual is because the Pyro can, in a sense control his opponent. Now, at the moment, this is done through an incredibly annoying to fight stunlock that we know as airblast. What I'm proposing is a very different kind of control, sort of an in-the-moment, 1v1 area denial technique. If fire stays in the air for longer (and you can see the hitboxes as fire), you have to be careful not to get burned, so you try very hard not to walk into the fire. A skilled Pyro would then force his opponent, who is trying to not walk into the fire, into a position that they cannot get out of. It'd be easier to explain with animation, but I have no skill in that area.
What should I name my Festive Flame Thrower in honor of Pyro update being so delayed? ( If it doesn't get released this week, I'm naming it. )

I feel like as it is now, the class is more suited to a supportive or defensive role, so I think the update is more likely to emphasize that. Who knows though? Pyro's such a mess that almost any niche is arguably plausible. I don't expect any really earth-shattering changes, but I wouldn't mind being wrong.
What if they reworked the flamethrower to work more like sticky spam? A demo can hit targets from much farther away if they charge it up, but obviously there's more time between shots and he has to be a lot keener in terms of aim and predicting the enemy's movement. Maybe the flamethrower could work similarly, just holding down left click gives the standard constant wide-range but short range flames, and if you left and right click at the same time you can charge up a burst of say half a second of increasingly narrow, longer range fire, depending on how long it was held.

Some may argue he just needs straight up more damage, but Pyro needs his niche. And as said before at least a skill ceiling. And I honestly don't believe an increase in his damage will be a welcoming buff... Preferably as I see it, Pyro should be a flexible class to a lot if not all situations compared to other classes. Weapons that change his playstyle in a way that benefits not only himself but his team. The DPS, the support, the defender, the flanker, etc.

Such feature will most likely be implemented as a separate weapon. Also, in my opinon, if we get another generalist, this could as well be Quake Champions instead of Team Fortress 2. Self-sufficiency doesn't help teamplay. No, people could play as team and get the goal, but in the end tthey are all capable of doing it, they are generalists. And if i get it right, TF2 class divisions are intended to give different classes different roles, not different sets of equally useful abilities.
That sounds overly complicated for something that essentially acts like the flare guns.
It wouldn't be that complicated in practice, it's literally just W+M1 with M2 adjusting how you W+M1.
I've got £10.99 in my steam wallet and I am looking to buy some tf2 items (hats mostly) for engineer, sniper or pyro. I'm a fan of mining, or construction. Nice.
You should totally vote for this cool mining helmet on the workshop that isn't ingame that I totally came across by accident and had no part in making.
What does toxx even mean again?
If the update isn't tonight, he gets perma'd.
If there's a blog post, at least unban him for that. The poor man clearly didn't understand the severities of his toxx.
What does toxx even mean again?
From the googleg: [t]https://i.imgur.com/iyNqjVU.png[/t]
The Toxx clause was instituted as a rule to discourage future members from making exaggerated claims.
No escape clause, no bullshit. He's gonna be banned if there isn't a update.
What does toxx even mean again?
At any point on this forum you can toxx to bet on stupid shit, if the bet fails, you get perma'd, if you win you don't. You can also state an escape clause, i.e. something terrible you do to yourself to get unbanned. e.g. famously a lot of people toxx'd that donald trump wouldn't be the president, some of them you don't see around anymore, the rest had to do all kinds of stupid shit like eat a jar of vegemite or splice an entire music album out of trump's quotes to get unbanned.
