I don't agree with Blades here, but I will note that (unfortunately) every pessimistic thing he's said thus far about this update and its release has wound up being true. Now, obviously there's going to be a point where he says something so outlandishly cynical- like this post- that the TF Team can't possibly reach the levels of disappointment he's predicting, but at the same time...he's had a very troubling level of accuracy thus far. I think this conspiracy theory is about where it ends, but there's still a valid point to be made here. It was mindless pessimism to think, last year, that we wouldn't get any major update for Winter. It was mindless pessimism in June to think the update would come any later than July, because we've never had a Summer update that late and this one would have been in the works for over twice as long as the usual update by then. It was mindless pessimism last month to think it would come after Summer ended, but now that's looking more and more likely with every passing day... I do think Blades is overstepping it here. But can you blame him? Can you blame anyone for losing all hope that this update is ever going to hit, considering the unholy fucking waiting period there's been and the piss-poor state of TF2? Hackers dominate every other game, the devs maintain radio silence almost as principle, and our numbers continue to drop off the longer this content drought persists. It's depressing as all fuck, and that's the kind of thing that might make someone give up hope.

We've emailed valve, gotten nothing back, the contribution community has heard squat, and the people who've visited valve have mentioned valve seems to be hard at work, and after this whiteboard nonsense, not in any place resembling ready for release. I'd say that backs up the forgone conclusion that the update is still being worked on, and therefore [I]not finished[/I]. But no, I'm clearly circlejerking a negativity assblast if I disagree with you. Obviously, since the general tone of this thread clearly is not a reflection of the state of TF2 right now, or the community, or of the sort /s Your juvenile 4chan comparison also fails to provide any evidence as to your claims that my theories are false. Initially I was kinda upset I wouldn't get to enjoy the update during my Summer Holiday but just now realized the TF Team is actually going for my fall holidays! Next week is going to be the last week that one could consider Summer, right? Guess we're moving to that.
