Valve really hasn't accomplished anything besides that CSGO patch since the international; it's reasonable to believe their consumer base will turn on them eventually if this keeps up. Illustration:
Well clearly some people felt something was happening. When you don't give a dog any food, it's going to start trying to eat rocks.
that's really sad but terribly accurate come on valve, give us something #Don'tLetHexEatRocks2017

It might just be me, but it seems like nobody is enjoying TF2 these days. The wait is getting on everyone's nerves, and even before that people we leaving the game. It feels like everyone is ignoring the positives and focusing on the negatives. Now, don't get me wrong, there's quite a bit wrong with the game. I just like to focus on the good parts. That's how I've been playing at least once a day ever since early January 2014.
Nobody is leaving the game if they're talking here, calm down.
I'm not just talking about this thread. I'm talking about the community in general. And I never mentioned people leaving. I was just saying that they're not enjoying the game as much as they probably used to.
Honestly, I really hope that the next update brings a fully-featured competitive matchmaking system with class limits and all. That alone would probably be enough to get me back to playing TF2 daily and a lot more frequently.

And then 426 days later, still no next update to fix what MyM ruined. come back to us adhoc
Personally I wouldn't consider this the worst time you could ever have in TF2. That would be just before the MyM update, when the community servers were already way on their way out, and Valve servers were just this extremely limpdick experience where all you could do is pubstomp silent f2ps. I find that the matchmaker actually puts people of all skill levels on the servers now, and they tend to communicate more. Even if the discussion is inane, it's still better than radio silence from the gibuses. That's nothing to say of all the frustrating mechanics we used to have in the game.

Before then was also an update drought, its ususal "game doesnt exist until late summer" deal. Tf2 was not in a good state Pre-mym

i've to admit not having to rely on community servers and arbitrary rules or whatever goon's mindset is to ban you out is a good thing. I still see the same old faces having a blast in casual from time to time so we're good.
I just want the update to come out already god dammit.
I just want the update to come out already god dammit.
I just want AdHoc connections.
I just want AdHoc connections.
Don't forget mods back on Official servers
Don't forget mods back on Official servers
They'll probably never re-add that unless that see-people-through-the-walls mod on Game Banana is taken down. But one can dream, right? Also - Custom animations.
You can use custom animations, you just gotta start up a private server first and leave it is all. Also It's sad that the cheat pack from GB isn't removed.
Doesn't the cheat pack have a work around now so that you can use it on pure servers?
Valve is basically the parents with clear favorites saying "I love you all equally".
more like they're the parents with clear favorites that very clearly express those favorites
Doesn't the cheat pack have a work around now so that you can use it on pure servers?
Why yes hacking is a huge problem in tf2 casual.
Why yes hacking is a huge problem in tf2 casual.
If votekick was improved from its 2007 state, it would solve 60% of these problems. Make accounts with high numbers of reports and low hours/one class played require less votes to kick. Make votes startable by the enemy team. Prevent party members from influencing a vote against one of their own, and so much more- these are all things we program into competitive mods. Ta-da I've just solved most of the "my team is mentally disabled and cannot kick an obvious hacker" complaints, where's my giant cardboard check valve?
Why yes hacking is a huge problem in tf2 casual.
So we've lost mods for no reason?
So we've lost mods for no reason?
there was never a good reason for that the issues with modding could've easily been solved by adding some checks and disabling the ability to modify some settings that were only ever used to cheat, but valve took the easy way out instead
So we've lost mods for no reason?
Theres a lot of reasons we lost mods. You could say it was due to valve wanting to make the game look good on twitch. You could say it was to make the game more uniform for a competitive environment. Or you could even say it was a desperate attempt by valve to increase the monetary value of skins when they released them.
I just want AdHoc connections.
biggest problem with ad-hoc is stream snipers and otherwise harassing players
biggest problem with ad-hoc is stream snipers and otherwise harassing players
At that point you could just set your profile private, right?
At that point you could just set your profile private, right?
if you find sombody once, you can join over and over again
you can also take a look at people's names in the server and try to find them on steam, you gotta be a dedicated dick to do that though
