Hate on Dane is completely baseless. He only told what he has seen. If he would have seen hobo with "End of the world is tomorrow" sign and told us about it, there would be no justification in calling him liar after those words prove untrue. On the other hand, if he told that it's only a spotting of whiteboard scribble [B]initially[/B], there wouldn't be a crowd of self-misinformed anons ready to tear him in shreds, so it's his own fault to some degree

I can't blame Dane for taking that as a hint for him for the date of the update. But if it isn't someone on the TF2 team just should of spent 10 seconds making a comment on the reddit post for it saying something like "Sorry that's not the date, we hope to have it out soon"
