Feels like I've hard the same thing each week for the past month.
Well, this Thursday is the last day of summer.
crossing my fingers for a hype countdown tomorrow and/or a day 1 blog post as always, though, wednesday is the most likely day to see something and pretty much the last we can expect to see anything. after that we're pretty much boned.
At the very least, that essentially confirms that the TF2 team's reticence is their own decision, rather than birthed from any company-wide guideline. I'm not entirely sure what benefits they see in being either vague or silent at this point in the game's lifetime.
It really does continue to baffle me that no matter how many earth shatteringly obvious signs that communication is all TFTeam needs to stay in a positive light, they still actively completely choose to resist and continue silence, despite how many years have passed with them being mocked for lacking it and praised when giving it. It really is as easy as saying "We want this to be out by late summer", or "We want this update to be out before christmas", instead all we get is minimum effort bullshit like "we're still working!!!! c u whenever haha". Like, wow, thanks for the communication. I really am glad there's verbal confirmation that you still haven't quit updating the game you promised to update. They barely even do content drops anymore. I don't really see why adding some cosmetics and maps would make their lives so hard. It's not like the update is going to feature any major engine overhauls preventing such minor content additions.
My favourite server died and came back in the span of a day. That place is marvelous due to random crits and random spread disabled by default. Now they only need to remove Junction and it will be the BEST server avaliable in the South of the Americas

No random crits, no random spread, 24/7 2fort. Feels like an old pub. Whenever I pub on it, I feel determined to get better at the game.
Also, I can't seem to get the 'Forbidden' error in the other Valve websites anymore.
Status upd: Blog is still borked. "Forbidden" error + it doesn't load properly on first launch.
teamfortress.com doesn't work, but tf2.com redirects you to a working version of teamfortress.com. Same URL, different website?
teamfortress.com doesn't work, but tf2.com redirects you to a working version of teamfortress.com. Same URL, different website?
nope, just tried tf2.com and it said forbidden. there's no difference, tf2.com just redirects to teamfortress.com
Also, I can't seem to get the 'Forbidden' error in the other Valve websites anymore.
Just got it on the left 4 dead blog. It probably isn't happening.
Maybe they're redesigning the blog somehow? Or super optimistic, they're putting together some big multiple day splash page and/or a countdown clock.
If they don't release it this week the TF community is gonna implode.
I hopped on B4nny's stream for a few minutes tonight and he was streaming Paladins instead of TF2. RIP TF2.
Just got it on the left 4 dead blog. It probably isn't happening.
Still, the TF2 website is the most broken.
I'm just a bit sad. The last "Major update" was Meet your match and that didn't have the best launch as the community would of wanted. This was then followed up by Halloween which consisted most of community created content and the Halloween contracts being re activated. Then smissmass came and it contained some server changes, community cosmetics, 2 community taunts, 1 valve taunt and festive lights for different weapons and majority of the festive lights are just the old existing festive light positioning just applied to a different gun (Little effort required). So far from in terms of valve created content there has been very little. HOWEVER, if the TF2 team literally give us what they have stated would be in the pyro update. I would be happy. I wish for more communication from valve. We got the balance change blog post which is great for feedback, in order to make this update good in terms of what the community wants but that was all. It's past the normal month they release major updates (June/July) and we haven't gotten the full list of changes that should probably also be released before the update to make sure they are acceptable. More communication thats all I want.
The new name of this thread should be: TF2 General Chat and Speculation Station: 86 new posts and no news.
In other news I S ranked all missions in MGS5 while waiting for the update and now I don't know what to do.
We already know what is inside the update.
Apparently not, because if it was only what driller described in the VNN interview it'd have been fucking done last spring.
The new name of this thread should be: TF2 General Chat and Speculation Station: 86 new posts and no news.
This shit isnt any less awful than the cool kids when MUS was there going "LMAO 200 posts and no up d ate?????"
good god im getting sick of reading the same "lol update ded xd vavle sux" posts in this thread, I hope the update comes out just to stop those types of posts
In other news I S ranked all missions in MGS5 while waiting for the update and now I don't know what to do.
That had to be very boring When mr. Kojima gave me stuff that belongs to VR section (repeated missions with added challenges) i didn't rike it and dropped the game
good god im getting sick of reading the same "lol update ded xd vavle sux" posts in this thread, I hope the update comes out just to stop those types of posts
Trust me, about one month after the Pyro Update, people will be saying the Heavy update is dead.
The new name of this thread should be: TF2 General Chat and Speculation Station: 86 new posts and no news.
You made a very similar post like 5 pages ago, be happy that people are interested in the game
Woah keys are at 32 refined... That's enough critical mass for people to consider crafting hats!
Error is still present on tf2's website. It's either they don't care or the blog is getting revamped.
Or it's an internal, Valve-wide issue. Point speaking for that is some other Valve sites having trouble but given TF2 has been by far getting the most shit the last few weeks... I'm starting to wonder.
TF2's, Valve's and CS:GO's websites seem to be completely borked. Now it's only the 'Forbidden' page. However, Dota 2's is completely fine. Guess it represents how Valve works on their projects if you think about it.
How are we feeling about tonight? I have high doubts anything will happen this month, I felt like last week was the release window they should have been aiming for.
Pretty sure we will get a update this week To add the Tip of the Hat Badges and update the Localization files that is
There are halloween maps slowly cropping up the workshop.Who knows maybe they might atleast add some maps from the workshop at the next halloween.
