Enjoy your first year without an update, folks.
ftfy
ftfy
At first i rated it dumb but its actually true that we technically gone a year without a major update excluding seasonal ones
i have no idea why but im so excited right now i just really hope we get something
I wonder if Valves been moving this week.
I would love it if they put a potted plant in a obscure spot similar to the Cactus Canyon mystery cactus.
Since New Zealand doesn't exist anymore in the TF2 Canon, Sniper is still Australian to me.
Since New Zealand doesn't exist anymore in the TF2 Canon, Sniper is still Australian to me.
Hes Australian for the XBox 360 players too
What I would give for all the voice actors to unite and voice the entire comic series
The only thing you would probably have to give them would be a lot of money.
cmon valve just do the thing already
cmon valve just do the thing already
It took a fucking year, I hope they do a multipage update, if nothing else than to make everyone start scrambling to find easter eggs again.
Well, either it's a one-day update, or it will officially be our first year without a major update in summer. A blog post telling us what the holdup is would certainly be appreciated.
At this rate I'd be surprised if the update is even this month to be honest
1st year without a single substantial summer update... welp that's sad.
this is absolutely abysmal, give us something for fucks sake.
This is inconceivable, if the team doesn't change how they work after this update, I can't imagine a bright future ahead of us.
This is inconceivable, if the team doesn't change how they work after this update, I can't imagine a bright future ahead of us.
tf2 isn't emerging lol. its future has already been lived through. I would rather say we're in the bonus years right now.
I'm not that pessimistic. TF2 is more lucrative than most AAA multiplayer titles, including your Call of Duties and your Star Wars: Battlefronts. It's a property that can easily be expanded given the proper care and attention. Remember the terminated Adult Swim deal? Imagine if Valve were any other company, and succeeded at providing enough episodes to make deadlines, no matter what it took (outsourcing, etc.). The publicity would have easily secured the game's place at 100k or more concurrent players.
I don't think we're getting the update for another month, I'm not gonna toxx on it or anything but I see no reason to ever be optimistic about TF2 updates.

I was looking at the backdrops for when in que on comp matchmaking: (pardon me not knowing how to shrink them) and i noticed how as you rank up, you see more bullets and cash piling up in the backdrop. I hope the reworked comp system adds almost like some system where you earn some sort of in game currency, perferably cash-esc credits to help immerse the player into fufilling the role as a mercenary. I think what i love is how immersive it can be in TF2, and i hope it has some sort of system to make it feel like you are a merc being assigned to matches to accomplish some goal for some money/credits to get better weapons(stranges or dec weapons or maybe just the unique weapons for newer players) to kill better just like the soldier or medic or heavy or any of them. Hope this new update really brings in some neat stuff to get players invested into TF2 better.
It was practically Free Money, Valve. What the fuck happened?
Valve happened. A foregone conclusion.
Ugh, Valve. I give up, the update can either come out or not at all. I'll just keep playing until I am finally sick of this game.
I screamed into the void, and the void screamed back... "...What we're up to"
Well, RIP the possibility of today being the day. Maybe toweek will be it.
Yeah from what I remember Valve wanted to make those Adult Swim episodes themselves which they could never do, they should of outsourced it to an animation studio and had their writers oversee and re-write the scripts.
God I can just imagine a TF2 TV series. They could've done so goddamn much with it. Makes me sad to think of all that could've been.
I'd pay good money for a well animated story of the mercs backgrounds and perspectives on the gravel war up to the death of gray mann.
Yeah from what I remember Valve wanted to make those Adult Swim episodes themselves which they could never do, they should of outsourced it to an animation studio and had their writers oversee and re-write the scripts.
I tried to imagine what a TF2 cartoon would be like, what the mercs would do, how they'd introduce new locations and characters, if it would evolve into a story or just stay a series of shorts about the team being the lovable serial killing idiots we've gotten Stockholm Syndrome with. What would your guys' hopes be for a TF2 cartoon? Self-contained series of jokes like ATHF or something with a growing and continuing story arc like the first season of the Dilbert Cartoon? Would you jump around on the timeline with no explanation, having the mercs fighting robots one episode and trying to live with one-another the next? Would it be all laughs or some serious moments? Any explanations for game mechanics or just leave them as "something that just happens"? I'm genuinely curious about your guys' ideas.

My explanation for randumb crits is that since Mann Co. ships shoddy-ass weapons, they're in a constant state of malfunction. But when the guns crit, is when they actually work for once (kinda like the opposite of a miss-fire) and do their intended damage. So it's why crits are so lethal because things like rockets and stickies should insta-gib people by default but because of the crappy mannufacturing they don't.
