Either I'm extremely lucky or something changed: Can someone confirm that MM is a lot more... stable and effective now? Before whenever I joined a Server that had like 11 players on it, it would stay like that till 5 minutes later. Everytime the map would switch and the entire Server would leave, it would stay like that. However starting since yesterday, that seemed to have changed judging from 5 matches or so. Players that left are being refilled rather quickly and "dead" servers are being revived in around 30-50 seconds with players joining. Maybe I'm just lucky, again, would love some conformation. Note that this happened on "normal" maps (Frontier, Snakewater etc.) - not the super populated Upward or Badwater.
People offended by tf2 assets used in that vr set. Like tf2 didn't borrow assets from hl2.
No. Upward is horrible to play attacking on. WAY too many Sentry spots, no map should have the much open space and sentry spots
Upward is the only non-beta release map I play on. I absolutely love it. Then again, I main Engineer :vs:

Sometimes I would get a lucky streak of good refilling, but that would stop after day or two. Only if it's like that consistently for a week, then you can say they changed something.

This is not okay.
People offended by tf2 assets used in that vr set. Like tf2 didn't borrow assets from hl2.
Of come the fuck on that's just being asinine for no reason, the assets used from HL2 were few and far between, and done to basically fill in the tiny gaps in development. These are just straight up pieces of content that, instead of, you know, having closure on them at all, get repurposed elsewhere. I genuinely think that the outright cancellation of the Moon content to be some of the grossest 'pretend we're working' trash that the TF2 team ever pulled. If you're going to cancel a plan, fine, do it, don't just... stop talking about it and think that we won't notice it get cannibalized elsewhere.
Of come the fuck on that's just being asinine for no reason, the assets used from HL2 were few and far between, and done to basically fill in the tiny gaps in development.
eh not really. there's a good 40% of tf2 game sounds coming from hl2.
I'm calling it, they are porting to Source 2, and the wait is just the porting. They will do some "It will never happen again because we will never port to a new engine again" post, and things will start to improve. There is just to much pointing to it, I'm starting work on a video with the evidence.

Some partial shit like Panorama UI might happen, but there won't be a full port, not in a million years. Escape: I'll eat my fucking beard, neck included. Tyler pls, you can't just say that and leave....

It amazes me day by day where he suddenly can think up of a video like that. I guess we'll wait to see what sources he's got this from.
If TF2 is really getting the source 2 love in the future then I wouldn't be sad, but with this 0 communication crap right now its getting desperate. ^ the "graphics" got worse when they removed v_models and w_models and replaced them with c_models, and the missing lightning issues on the maps is because of recompiling issues from hammer I'm guessing.
anybody know EXACTLY when TF2 Graphics went from good to crap?
when your eyes went from crap to good :buddy:
If TF2 is really getting the source 2 love in the future then I wouldn't be sad, but with this 0 communication crap right now its getting desperate.
Valve has been replaced with voles.
We already know so much about the Update, we would also know if something as significant as an engine change was going on. I won't believe we'll see Source2 with the Pyro Update until it happens. If for some crazy reason they decided to not only do a Source 2 port AND combine it with the Pyro Update, see you in 2018. Also expect more bugs and possibly worse performance.
he's just baiting you guys to watch his new video when it comes out, don't fall for it
I've had my tinfoil hat on for awhile also suspecting a Source 2 port was happening, but who knows if that is why the update is taking so long.
Are you gonna pull a valve and let your video speak for itself? Just tell us pls, I seriously doubt that is possible. The developers required aren't there, the timeframe would be next year, the community would just give up before then. Its not gonna happen.
I just really hope that when the Update arrives, if its next week or December, we'll all understand why it took so fucking long
possibly worse performance.
evidence? source 2 runs on Vulkan, the best graphics API ever created. source 2 would use both the CPU and GPU at a balance WAY better than current source engine, allowing people with expensive hardware to get the best out of it, as well as more effectively using newer (but weaker) 4-core cpus. i can't see a single bad thing performance wise coming out with Source 2

Do you trust Valve2017 to do the work needed for the ideal outcome?

If TF2 does get a Source 2 port, I expect it to be a straight up port. I don't expect them to add any new features or anything, they'll just port all the assets into Source 2 and call it a day.

I'm still a fan of TF2 and want to see it get updated, have a new fresh coat of paint, etc etc. But good fuckin' grief, if CS:GO isn't getting ported to Source 2, then TF2 definitely won't. And SURE, you can quote the bit from the AMA or whatever that was like "Eventually we'd like all our games to be on Source 2" but that isn't a confirmation or a promise that they'll ever get around to it. And, again, porting it to Source 2 will do nothing. I've had lots of issues with Dota 2's port to Source 2, that took until recently for it to start actually working 100% and not have to specifically run the 32bit DX9 version of the game. You all want a fixed game, but porting it to Source 2 instead of just doing a ground-up remake or rework on Source 1 is just not gonna help. I swear, it's like a lot of you just want Source 2 because "It's... Source 2! That means it's Source but better, right?"

I don't think tf2 will get ported to source 2. As nice as it would be, I just don't see it as realistic. Tf2 is not a very high priority for Valve.
I'd only want a Source 2 port for TF2 when Source 2 is genuinely finished and released to the public. I wouldn't want it to become an even more unstable mess as they tweak and fuck around with it to make it work over the space of 2 years.
