Perhaps that screenshot of Aperture Science offices, is actually valve's office. Dead.
I'm calling it, they are porting to Source 2, and the wait is just the porting. They will do some "It will never happen again because we will never port to a new engine again" post, and things will start to improve. There is just to much pointing to it, I'm starting work on a video with the evidence.
I'm sorry but there's no fucking way the game would be ported to Source 2 out of nowhere like that. If they were going to pull that, I think valve would dedicate more than 5 programmers to the game, and would probably be more open to testing and the like. The only way I could see that happening is if they've had this in the works for months or years leading up to now. Not only would it break pretty much every mod/addon with Tf2, but there would probably be a slew of problems coming out of that probably just from the game itself. It is possible but the chances are so astronomically low it would happen especially with the current size of the Dev team.
Next toweek is the week? :saddowns:
I'm still hoping NPC characters like Hale will be in the short.
i want to see what valve's official hale model is like
Perhaps some of those could be stills from the new SFM? It wouldn't be the first time they've teased a short in non tf2 media.
Especially perhaps the last one with the Pyro either holding his head or lifting his mask off, could be some kind of plot point in the short
Wouldn't modding be hurt by the transition to source 2?
Wouldn't modding be hurt by the transition to source 2?
I thought source 2 was supposed to make modding easier.
Modding was already hurt by all of the hyper restrictive Sv_pure they forced onto servers
calling it. pyro is scout's mom.
So all the time it was just scouts mum making sure scout wont get hurt. /s

And it's taken them over a year to make gun mettle 3, so you may want to dial back this theory a bit...
Either you’ve cracked or you’re actually a developer for valve and you’re teasing us all.
Or it's a dead end theory and valve is actually just slow as fuck. I'm no engine expert so refute me if i'm wrong but if the engine was being ported wouldn't it have been a good idea for them to release a new hammer for map creators to work off of? If nothing else I feel like we'd have seen at least something change on the workshop forefront.

what are the benefits of source 2 besides using fewer resources anyways? are the graphical capabilities that much better? does it support a broader range of shaders? PBR reflections? how much would TF2 actually gain in any department?
after checking my vinyl case i can conform that all the boxing ring posters are not new, but they are complete/not covered by other photos. the important one is the pyro removing his mask because its half burnt in the vinyl promo pics and it makes him look like putting his hands on his head
Next toweek is the week? :saddowns:
Reality of the situation is that we are in a void of Info: We just know the Update is it's final states, that's just a fact. Doesnt matter if you think it's a Smissmas Update or a September one, the information given directly even from the TF Team tells you that. Could come this Sunday or October. The way to win this game is to not play.
Modding was already hurt by all of the hyper restrictive Sv_cheats they forced onto servers
yeah, I remember when all valve servers had sv_cheats 1 enabled on them, it really killed creativity when they disabled it, all the prop spawning to protect the briefcase and nocliping to enemy's basement in 2fort, rip :v: (yeah, I know you meant sv_pure)
cant lie but im looking forward to vnn's insane theory not like well have to wait long to see if its true ;)
We just know the Update is it's final states, that's just a fact.
We dont know that.
Would anyone know if there's a way to pull the assets out of the new SteamVR Home update? The Gym has assets from the Facemovie props that haven't been leaked before like the rest of the SFM Beta Leak has, and I would like to get a hold of all the shit in there.
For all we know they got two weeks in development, drew up a bunch of plans, then locked the doors to the office to collect paychecks
I always enjoy VNN's theories so lets see what you got tyler
The Jungle map "Overgrown" just updated about 20 minutes ago. Could mean nothing, though in some cases Valve will contact mapmakers of maps they're interested in, telling them to make changes. Even if this is the case here, it doesn't necessarily mean that they're going to add that map.
That means nothing.

Crash posted the changelog of the Sept. 5th's update a minute before uploading the updated map itself. However this time, Crash did not post any changelog, and already 40 minutes passed. Each time after uploading an update, Crash would instantly post any changelog, the latest being 20 mins after the update. What might this mean? Check in to the comment section to see if Crash posts the changelog or not.
We dont know that.
The main composer of TF2 saying he expects a track of his to be released very soon? The TF Team themselves saying they are "polishing" the Update around 3 weeks ago? That doesnt sound like stuff that would imply they are still deep into developing the Update and we can expect it at Smissmas.

Y'all are basically grasping at straws at this point. Just waiting for the update to ship is going to cause a lot less stress and a lot less crap will be posted in this thread.
Y'all are basically grasping at straws at this point. They could solve so much of the community's frustration just with a simple blog post update. Not even "THE" update, just some info on what's going on. But nope.
Valve doesn't really owe us anything at all, but the lack of communication all the time has always felt extremely frustrating and a bit disrespectful. I try to keep my comments from sounding anything at all close to entitled, but my patience with Valve is finally diminishing.
