Speaking of promotional hats, a Black Mesa dev created promo items for TF2. http://steamcommunity.com/id/bmworkshop/myworkshopfiles/?appid=440 I believe they're intended to launch with the Steam release of Black Mesa in December. I don't know about you guys, but these items look friggin awesome to me.
These items are two years old. They were added for the steam release back in 2015. If Crowbar Collective weren't able to get it into the game back then, I'm not particularly convinced that they would get them in with the Xen update in December. I'm not even sure they're going to try. If Valve didn't add them when CC first tried to get them added, why should Valve add them now?
I am actually fucking confused as to the fact that they didn't do a TFC themed update
They can't use "artstyle" as an excuse anymore.

But, neither after early-access release, neither after full xen-less launch of Black Mesa those weren't added. I really, really hope they will be added after xen update, but, i can't exactly put my finger on that. I'd write to TF team asking to do that, but they probably receive tons of such spam daily.
They can't use "artstyle" as an excuse anymore.
Besides, it would totally fit into artstyle, since futuristic style of TFC is already in canon as australian technology of thirties.

You know, thinking about it, in Meet the Spy, BLU Spy has photographs of RED Spy having sex with scout's mother. Does that mean that somewhere in the TF2 canon, BLU Spy was watching an identical version of him have sex with scout's mom? Moreover, if RED Spy is scout's dad, but MtS shows BLU scout's mom banging RED Spy, does that mean that RED Spy is also BLU Scout's dad, or is BLU scout's mom banging BOTH RED and BLU spy, with each Spy producing a similarly-colored offspring? If this is the case, is the BLU spy's behavior in taking photographs of another nearly identical man having sex with his mistress a bizarre cuckoldry situation? However, if RED Spy is BLU Scout's dad, isn't the implication that RED spy murdered one of his sons and then posed as him? Since both Scouts are basically identical, the only difference between Spy being willing to murder his own son, and the spy working with and secretly having some affection for his son, is what color shirt that son is wearing. If Scout has "killed plenty of spies", that implies there are more than just those two spies. Were those spies ALSO banging scout's mother? Does each spy banging scout's mother have another son who is also a Scout? If they all have the same mother, then these scouts would all be brothers. This would explain who all of those brothers are in Scout's biography on the TF2 website.
You need to remember that a "class" is merely an occupation, not a specific character. We've seen Tavish refer to other bad demomen, we've had cases like you mentioned where numerous spies are killed by a single scout, or we have a situation like in the comics where several engineers are attending to the life-extending machines before being dismissed from the room. The easiest way to think of it is that there are thousands of mercenaries willing to participate in this war, it's just that most of them are utterly inconsequential and disposable both literally and for literature purposes. We know of the 9 major classes, they're special cases because they have plot armor that all but guarantees that they stay more or less alive so the story can continue. It also lends itself as to why cosmetics are a big thing in terms of lore appreciation. Everyone who has a decked-out cosmetic loadout and weapon kit is just one single merc who literally does not matter in the grand scheme of the gravel wars. They're a literal nobody, it doesn't matter who is controlling them, they are not the team that the lore is concerned with. Of course this doesn't really address how all of the mercs with the same occupation have the same afflictions (ie all demomen being a black drunkard, soldiers are all crazy war fanatics, etc), but it's a fun thought to entertain nonetheless.

Edit: I just made a ticket again. Let's hope this time it goes through, as the last time they declined me was an year ago. Also, these days Steam Support is actually really good! Gaben definitely kept to his word. One of the reasons why it's good is because Valve outsourced Steam Support.
separate game canon from comic canon and things make a lot more sense
Game canon also follows comic canon. Last time I checked, Merasmus and Miss Pauling were quite prominent.
If they ever going to make s TFC styled update they better either add maps that has the VOX announcer or make it a timed event/option to choose which announcer

I don't get why steam support can't return deleted items more often if they were untradable/unmarketable in the first place, doesn't seem like it'd be too hard, maybe it'd take 5 minutes at most if they aren't exactly experienced in granting items to players I'd assume. i want my empty spellbook back god dammit i ended up getting like 8 pages from merasmissions last year and they're burning a hole in my inventory
Question: What HUDs do you guys use and if it's edited how does it look?
Question: What HUDs do you guys use and if it's edited how does it look?
I use a slightly modified 7HUD, where I changed the main menu/loading screen backgrounds as well as adding a circle around the crosshair (I use the + shaped crosshair). Looks like this, but with a circle divided into quarters for a crosshair. [t]http://huds.tf/forum/xthreads_attach.php/289_1467383155_a327982d/859882c835a0b0594366900585648593/KDGAAgT.jpg[/t]

The most reps have the common one - reply to questions and concerns of the customers (us). They are telling propably telling the truth, they cannot return items. Then there are the surpervisors, which have more power to do things, such as give out refunds even for the older cases or return items. People used to contact support because they had accidentally deleted items, and some of those items were returned as vintage or similar after the return. Then there was the case where people were getting scammed so steam support returned the items each time, despite of was the scam real or not. Then they stopped doing even that, because that devalued the items and people should take better care of their accounts. This was propably looked over someone with supervisor or manager status of the support and they decided its not harmfull gesture for anyone.

Strange count transfer tools have been known to consume unlisted items when used, and a tool had actually deleted one of my Highlander medals by mistake, something I still can't fathom to this day. I used steam support and got it back about two weeks later because it was 100% their fault. And am probably the only user with a support granted one of those too.
Speaking about huds, i use rayshud and i have yet to figure out how to use default backgrounds with it (including ones added in mym for example), i got the original gray backgrounds (upward and dustbowl) but couldn't get the others, anyone knows how to do that?
Tbh though, os customer support sends you an automated response (they still add real Names to discurage you) you should be able to get am actual person to you rather quickly (kind of.. Sometimes you have to go through 3 different bots with differemt names to reach an actual person)

I really dont like those black/grey bars that take up 75% of your screen while spectating.
I miss the spectator tv, and being able to pick my team when I join a game. At least in a valve pub anyway.
Played a TF2 match with some old steam friends the other night. I forgot how slow yet smooth everything was (after a year of Overwatch binging) are Unusuals still insanely priced or have they come down in value over time?
Doesn’t custom huds break in offical valve servers? Or that’s only for skins and custom sounds
are Unusuals still insanely priced or have they come down in value over time?
Based on what kind of hat/effect, I think the cheapest will go from 35 to 60 dollars if you’re lucky.
Doesn’t custom huds break in offical valve servers? Or that’s only for skins and custom sounds
Huds are fine, I'm unsure about sounds, skins definitely don't work.
Custom HUDs work everywhere. The only issues you'll encounter with a custom HUD is if it isn't up-to-date to take advantage of all the ingame hUD elements: ie, some HUDs don't have MVM support, or will break after a game update with a new HUD element.

CSGO economy is completely automated (csgol is dead, impossible to sell anything on outpost unless you're quickselling ), Dota trading is dead.
