TF2 probably has the most stable market on Steam right now. CSGO economy is completely automated (csgol is dead, impossible to sell anything on outpost unless you're quickselling ), Dota trading is dead.
Similar things can be said for TF2. Player-to-player trading is essentially unused for most item sales thanks to the steam market and automated bot sites (read: not a bad thing).
Trading sites like TF2 Outpost also refuse to do anything about the quicksell buying plague too, so aside from a few items with subjective prices like higher end unusuals, there's not much negotiation involved anymore.
These items are two years old. They were added for the steam release back in 2015. If Crowbar Collective weren't able to get it into the game back then, I'm not particularly convinced that they would get them in with the Xen update in December. I'm not even sure they're going to try. If Valve didn't add them when CC first tried to get them added, why should Valve add them now?
Black Mesa is in Early Access. The actual release of the game is with the Xen update, which comes out in December. Valve usually has promotional items for games that have been released, rather than early access games.
Only the crowbar looks somewhat interesting and iconic to it. The rest i could live without.

Completely true, but the only difference between TF2 and other games so far is that TF2 has slightly more active players trying to trade items without relying on bots only. Also TF2 has a reliable pricing site, that's what is keeping the economy alive.
Question: What HUDs do you guys use and if it's edited how does it look?
Stock hud, best hud
In general tf2 has a way better community support for every aspect of the game. Tf2maps, backpack.tf, scrap/marketplace.tf, tftv, teamwork.tf, PUG websites etc.
The websites that help the community run are super well taken care of and Idk any other game with that amount of third party support. I use them everyday and i'm convinced the game would be way less healthy without them.
Without tf2maps the overall quality of new maps would be way lower.
I think trading is mostly dead cause it's just a plain hassle now. Activate this, authenticate that, click this email, be friends for two weeks etc. All these things stacked on top of each other just make a quick trade annoying and most people don't want to bother.

Not to mention trading bots. Scrap.tf and even backpack.tf are filled with them. They promise quick transactions for pure metal and keys, which is the ideal trade you want to pull off. Who's going to want to trade with a player who might not be online when you want the item, when you can get it from a bot almost instantly?

because you're 100% guaranteed to find a better deal with a normal person, and trade bots only help with relatively cheap stuff
So, question: I always see people bitching about crits, what if we changed random crits to random mini-crits instead? Would you feel that's better or worse than the current system (and I know many people would rather no crits at all but I'm just trying to strike up conversation).
The way Valve made trading so frustratingly slow and time consuming (in addition to shithead the nature of most traders) makes me wish everything was able to be put on the Steam community market.

Valve didn't make it like that, the community did. Community made bots, made SteamREP, Outpost, backpack.tf. Valve only made Steam Market, which was a cool addition, but Bots are the ones who made trading slow.
Trading would be pretty nice if bots and quickbuyers didn't take 90% of the market. Also be glad they didn't add everything to Steam Community Market, for example Refined metal would be 3 cents, which wouldn't really be healthy for the current economy that is on life support.

How about remove random crits for Primary and Secondary weapons and just leave them for Melee weapons?

No random crits at all.
No random crits at all.
You'll be happy to learn that tf_weapon_criticals 0 and tf_weapon_criticals_melee 0 are built in.
Remove random crits for stuff like the rocket launcher and leave them in for other weapons.

Minigun random crits.

I'm just gonna quote my post on this when it happened a couple weeks ago
Why is it so common for people to want to keep melee random crits? They're bullshit just like any other random crits, you can't make proper tactical decisions about someone in melee range because they might instakill you for no reason, and that's on top of the funky hit detection.
I know random crits come up in this thread a lot, but man, it's because they're glaring bullshit in an otherwise pretty well made game.

Well yesterday people were pretty hostile against me for wanting random crits gone, seems like opinions changed today :/
Valve didn't make it like that, the community did.
The community invented the 2 step authorization system?
The community wanted the requirement to have a smart phone to do any trading?
The community clamored for the 7 day wait period and market cooldowns?

We weren't hostile for your stance on random crits, everyone hates them, we were criticizing you for using the sandman,
a universally despised stunlock weapon for a class that needs no such advantage in a game where no such mechanic like that should exist at all in any form.

All the protection systems invented by Valve is thanks to all the phisher bots made by community.
7 day wait is thanks to scammers and people who abused SCM in scam ways.
Phone protection is purely thanks to CSGO.
7 day trade ban on item was probably the smartest move by Valve which saved alot of items prices.

Valve's fetish for automated response is what created such a lackluster security system in the first place.
They admit that their support it garbage but instead of using their countless millions to attempt to improve it they continue on with automated, blanket garbage that punishes all of us because of the small hand full of scamming and phishing incidents.

Valve doesn't care about anything but money now, their entire Client is full of flaws. But you can't deny the fact that the 7day protection, steam guard are actually helpful. Well maybe not If you don't play(trade) games like CSGO. Their support system is still shit as it was before, nothing improved.
You can disagree with me, saying that they are not required, but I don't want to go back in times where I had 50 phishing bots add me daily and chinese IP's somehow trying to access my account every month.

That is the price of freedom.
But really, that sucks.

I wouldn't consider 77,000 hijacked accounts per month to be a small handful. Scamming and phishing was a significant problem which put everyone's accounts at risk. These days, all I hear about are people falling for confidence tricks.
The extra security measures are a necessary evil to clamp down on all the phishing and protect your account. Bash on automation all you want, but it does address the weakest link of security: people. Social engineering is not to be underestimated.
As someone who loves the style of tf2 hats but only really cares about the playing aspect rather then the trading aspect, I'd be totally okay if they made all cosmetic items marketable with the next update. A majority of hats are currently unmarketable, so if I want them to complete a load out, I'd have buy keys and wait a week for tradability before finally exchanging them for ref then trading the ref for the hat pieces I want. I can honestly consider paying a little more for easier cosmetic accessability.
