I have a question for everyone, has valve completely blacklisted mods from working on their servers? Animation, model, texture, ect.? I think I recall animations still getting a pass on the whitelist but it seems they're now completely blacklisted, making hud and some sound mods only use able. Does anyone think me sending an email to Eric asking about why they've chosen to basically cull a large part about what makes TF2 fun for some people? Or would I be wasting my breath?

Or would I be wasting my breath?[/QUOTE] Iirc viewmodel animations are only supposed to be disabled in Competitive thanks to some that allowed you to completly hide viewmodels. As for the others pretty sure they've always been disabled on Valve servers.

My main point is why did they do this, I'm well aware that it is a thing they have done (Its the whole reason I stopped making mods for TF2 and stopped fixing the old ones when they break), but I've still never truly understood why.

Or would I be wasting my breath?[/QUOTE] valve re-enabled viewmodel animations for like a month or two, then turned it off again cause a bunch of idiots thought that speeding up the animation actually made the action go faster (i.e. making the reload anim faster would actually grant a faster reload), but this was proven wrong not a week after, and valve doesn't care

Or would I be wasting my breath?[/QUOTE] They run sv_pure 1, which means most visual mods will not work....and end up breaking the hell out of your TF2 since valve handles that terribly.
I had accidentally left a vpk in my custom folder when I joined a casual server the other day and the (non-texture) portions of cosmetic items in it were loaded. Don't know how useful that is, but it was there.

I also listened to about 30 minutes of the Jungle Cruise queue music and Adventureland music too.

Which is a bad idea[/QUOTE] One would have to be pretty dumb/oblivious to fall for a big green bush with a hole in it thats tall enough for sniper to hide in it. Especially as most maps don't have grass, let alone bushes. Make sure to make it lighter or something and have it not quite touch the ground and it would be fine imo.

Which is a bad idea[/QUOTE] If the flowers on the nest are prominent enough, and something to make it obvious that it's a taunt is added (rifle sticking out of the bush at a useless angle, constant rustling animation, and what A_Guardian said, etc.), it might work.

Erm, speaking about taunts, I need an animator who can create animations for a specific taunt featuring a burning barrel.

Box Trot made sense as a Spy taunt cause of obvious reasons, mostly the fact that he is [b]the[/b] stealth class. Personally, I think making a similar taunt for a class other than Sniper (which is already slightly pushing it) really doesn't make any sense.

If it were the rule that people cant tell that a box doesn't belong on the point the video wouldn't have been made. Those were the dumb/oblivious people i mentioned.

Point is you cant make prop for taunt that will be soo hard to see because most of the players wont spot it at all. Boxtrot box is super bright and heave team coloured parts like bush heave flouers. Wingled wanted make it but he throw this idea away because he was bussy with sfm videos.

I've felt that an ice based weapon will never be accepted by the TF2 gaming community. Mostly due to how ice based weapons have a tendency to lead to movement impairing effects, to even outright completely stopping characters. Mei being a perfect example of this from Overwatch. She slows down characters by constantly hitting them with her ice thrower weapon till they're frozen solid. They cannot move, turn, or fire at all during this state. From which she can stand by them and headshot them with alt fire for easy kills. Anything that generally effects movement or control over characters is generally frowned upon by the TF2 community as well. A better potential direction could be a Lightning/Acid/Bio/Chemical based weapon for Pyro instead.
Ayy on the subject of bioweapons and whatnot, is it too late to do anything Wasteland themed? I've just been sitting on this scavenger Engineer set for a couple days, and wondering if pitching it would be timing it perfectly
