Wow, it's been awhile since I was here. At some point it was recommended that I revisit a super old biowar-themed weapon set idea for Medic. Started redrawing the Bonesaw at the time, stopped working on it, and found it floating around in my files again. Not sure if it's worth picking up again. [t]http://i.imgur.com/YfrnGtD.png[/t] I don't know if the attack motion implied would actually be possible or worth the effort. It's supposed to be implied that it injects something team-colored into the victim, and... I guess draws something back out to refill itself…? Yeah, I really don't know anymore. Maybe some sort of tank could be added to the back to justify a refill. The more I think about it, the more I realize it might be too similar to the Ubersaw.
absolutely rancid quality of your models themselves
ah yes this is constructive
rancid quality of your models themselves
This is one of the reasons why people aren't willing to learn: People like you, who trash other people's things that of course need improvement, but instead of giving him specifics, you just go out of your way to just upright trash his stuff. If you want him to rethink his entire style, give him some tips and examples. If things come to worse, teach him and inspire him to succeed, with the reminder that even when he does get to a point where his items start becoming better and better, that there will always be failures on his path to success.
(oh god, please don't start)
In response to Ikes- Some people learn faster, some other people take a bit more time to progress, and that's totally okay. Belittling them for trying their hardest by calling their models of "rancid" quality helps absolutely no one here. Once again and always, be constructive with your criticism and with a little positive re-inforcement and cheering your fellow TF2 contributors on, they can achieve greatness. Anyone can. BonkNickeltoo beat me to the punch with what I was gonna add on. If you keep on berating people with negativity when they try to get better, they're less likely to keep on trying. It's human nature. Always try to help others when they need it most- Kindness helps your heart and everybody else's. Try it out for a bit.

It's already full of selfish twats and it's not just ikes.

There's criticism and there's constructive criticism, and then there's just being straight up rude.
5 years showing little to no improvement is absolutely inconceivable
I've been here for like three years and your attitude still hasn't improved at all ikes :v:
the point was that it doesnt seem like theyre trying to learn he keeps asking for help with his qc and VMT and VTF when it's obvious enough none of those are the core problem with his work and he refuses to listen time and time again 5 years showing little to no improvement is absolutely inconceivable if he was actually actively trying to improve the quality of his work but it's clear that he's not
But does that give you a solid, good reason to be mean to him? Forgive me because I rarely check the Emporium nowadays, I don't know what the situation at-hand is off of first glace, but do you really have to be negative like this? Time and time again you say that you're gonna improve your demeanor and things go well for the first week, but then you return back to your old ways. I don't want to start a huge debate over all of this, all I'm saying is kindness defeats negativity with these sorts of situations. Even if you think he hasn't improved and it's tiring yourself out, pay no mind. Just drop it all and leave it up to them to figure out. Things will be well, in time. Enough of this, though. Let's switch gears. And I just made an item today. :c On that note, anybody know what all you need to include with a weapon submission? First time uploading on the (TF2) workshop, don't wanna mess it up. I thought there was gold star for weapons now too, but looking over things seems I was mistaken.

A compiled version of your weapon goes in "Game" using the directory "models\workshop\weapons\c_models\c_weapon_name", and the same with the materials. Back pack icons go in the standard directory. The "Source" folder should contain your QC and smd files of LoDs 0-"X" and tga files of your textures and BP icons. Its best to split this folder into "models" and "texture" folders. Hope this helps.
fine
Hey man, feel free to add me on Steam if you want some help with making your items. Don't worry, I won't go too hard on you, unlike the others. I'll give you some tips and other things that I learnt
I'm not sure if anyone has watched the video by VNN but during the footage David Riller was talking about the new update and directly mentions that there is going to be new weapons for the Pyro. I figure i'd mention it as even with the update slowly marching forward as we've yet to really see a rush of new items and weapons for the Pyro update. Also. Does anyone have any Pyro Weapon concepts up for grabs?

Little bit of a concept dump of some older pyro concepts of mine that are still up for grabs, add me on steam if you're interested in any of them: Firebug's Frock and the Cremator's Candlestick [t]https://puu.sh/tX17C.png[/t] [t]https://puu.sh/tX17E.png[/t][t]https://puu.sh/tX17L.png[/t] Flamethrower and one cosmetic that i intended to pair well with the Napper's Respite. Burnt Rubber [t]https://puu.sh/tX18J.png[/t] Racecar jumpsuit, set is broken into three pieces: The Scarf, The Jumpsuit, and The Helmet+Goggles. Front-line Firebug [t]https://puu.sh/tX18x.png[/t] This one is intended as one item, so that it can be worn with other suit/coat items. Intended to have an extra style to disable the epaulets.
The handle looks a bit too thick
We know we are revising it one part at a time we just finished shortening the stock
We know we are revising it one part at a time we just finished shortening the stock
ahh, I see. Well can't wait to see the finished model :)
I think the pyro crossbow could use more sharp edges and corners.
Anyone help me on why GM/TB skins are overriding all the materials on the model? The model has 3 materials. Crate, bottle and cork. I only want the Crate material to be skinned. However, for some reason the entire model gets overriden. Any idea on how to fix this?
-snip that's not it-
