Hey guys. So I've been working on this helmet for soldier for a while: It's a half of a coconut made into an helmet. At this point I'm not really sure what more I could add or change about it to make it look better. Do you guys have suggestions on how to improve it?
Looking good o would recommend removing the straws and making the bottom of the coconut like spiked like it was broken in half as well as use normals to make the holes at the top look deeper. Lastly have the texture look more furry like a real coconut.

Right now it just looks like the soldier's helmet with three dots on top and a random light part at the bottom of it. Remove the two random square brush strokes and try to texture some creases in; if not try to sculpt creases in.
Hey guys. Been a while! Anyways got a new small set I'm submitting that fits both the Jungle and the Frontline Updates. This is due to the fact that the set is based off of the Australian soldiers that fought in the Pacific jungles in the Kokoda Track campaign during WW2. This was concepted by Extra Ram and made by me and the promos were made by the talented Deasdemona. Small details are often exaggerated so they can be seen from a distance. 2) The overall shape of the hat does not appear to be coconut-like. It looks more helmet-like. 3) Make it thicker, so the white coconut flesh can be clearly seen underneath. 4) Make the brim more jagged and organic. Check out this picture of a coconut: [t]http://consciouscoconut.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/coconut.jpg[/t] Note the shape, the exposed white part, the edge where it was sliced open, the the fiber-y texture. If you were able to translate each of these to your item, it would look much better.

Any idea when Mayann SFM will be done?
Any idea when Mayann SFM will be done?
Very shortly, actually! It was delayed a little the last couple of months due to personal life issues, but those issues are over.

Nor will you be the last.
This an image taken from the teaser trailer for team fortress 2 that logo in the background intrigues me... I made a quick sketch for a mask based upon the logo anyway, it would be cool if that logo somehow ended up in the current TF2 in any way or form (*pondering* maybe a belt buckle...)
That logo is the old red team logo from the original TF Its just a skull in a hexagon, not little side ear things.

x-post from the TFMV thread, could use a little help.
I'm getting this error every time I load up TFMV:
The theme is to be a bit more industrial or militaristic, but I'm not sure if I should change up the jumpsuit a bit more or maybe add some pouches carrying explosives. Suggestions?

Hello everyone, I am currently looking for tips/help with textures for a secondary I am making for pyro with a buddy of mine. I am willing to hire a texturer if you are up to the task within the next 6 days because we plan on trying to release it in time for valve to potentially add it for the pyro update weapon pack!

It's currently really blobby with no hard edges. The proportions are pretty off and stuff like the handle and trigger look more like a Fischer Price toy than a weapon, have you compiled it and seen if it even fits in Pyros hands? Considering it's such a simply shaped weapon 4,600 tris is way way too much. It would also need custom animations for firing and reloading, and since you havent posted any of that I assume you havent done that. I don't want to discourage you but you really jumped into the deep end with this project. I would set it aside and start on a new thing that doesn't require so many learning and technical hoops to jump through. Try just making a simple hat so you don't have to learn how to manually compile, make animations, make more complicated textures and vmts, etc. Learn all facets of making an item by yourself, at least the basics before you jump into harder projects where you would need others to help.

But I am just currently looking for a guide or 2 on texturing to help me develop my skills with more then just modeling. As well as there were early animations of this model posted a few weeks ago...

But nonetheless Thank you and maybe ask instead of assuming :)
I think it might turn out a bit too similar to the Well-Rounded Rifleman save for the goggles. And in real life fire works do not launch them selfs only the internal powder is lit and projected into the sky but the cardboard cylinder stays in the ground. So I'm having it have the logic of a fire cracker where the whole chamber explodes in fire.
I am writing a paper about the steam workshop for university.:what: Has there ever been a workshop content creator, who was recruited by valve?
I am writing a paper about the steam workshop for university.:what: Has there ever been a workshop content creator, who was recruited by valve?
Thiago Vidotto was a Dota 2 workshop contributor and Valve hired him to work in-studio like 7 months ago.
