it's times like these where i really wish leg bodygroups were a thing for classes. this is a really well-made item that could really benefit for something like that! others have already pointed out the bulky leg issues - even with all that said, you could probably get away with keeping most of the original set design in-tact, but if you're willing, doing another style where it covers up the medic's base pants model with that cool design you have going on with the shorts already could work, too it probably wouldn't make much sense given what the set is supposed to be, but it may be something to consider, because everything here is really well-modeled and textured and i like seeing good work like this thrive. really well done with all obstacles considered, man. again, if only bodygrouped legs were a thing, if only
Thanks everyone for the input. I'll go ahead and make another style covering the base pants and keeping the rest :)
Don't forget to put buttons on the sides of the leggings as actual lederhosen tends to have that. That or a type of rope that ends in a tassel which ever one you think is best.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/ADKU41j.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/GVIWsCw.png[/t] Well it does look better, it turns out to be a strange ballista but, it does look better. A little bit boring in first person though
I actually really like this entire weapon concept. Walking around shooting oversized Huntsman arrows that gib people and pin them to walls would be 100% fun. If you were able to find a way to make the arms of the crossbow part pull back for the Minigun spin animation, I think that would make for a very cool-looking heavy primary to use in first-person. Maybe for a third-person spin-up animation(if there is any), you make the little knob-thing near heavy's right hand in the above pic spin to (a) make the whole automatic ballista thing make sense, given that the string of this thing needs to be able to pull back quick enough for another bolt to reload, and (b) make this thing look that much cooler in-game to look at while it's being spun up. As for how it looks, I agree with blaholtzen. It should have a square magazine box on the underside of it. However if you do that, you might have to bring back the wheels on the front, because that's the least noisy thing you could do for it. Also a part of me feels like the front handle should be something interesting to hold on to as well. A rope that wraps around heavy's hand would be cool.

You guys have to be tired of my silly questions, but how do I rig Pyro's head properly? I rigged my mask just like the default one is (using bip_spine 3, bip_neck and bip_head) but the bottom of my mask won't fit the hole Pyro's model has, so there are some holes here and there that show the inners of the model (and of course the lack of texture on that part, just trasparency) instead of lining perfectly. Did I forgot any bone? I have checked Valve´s rigging and I do it in Blender, but can't think of a solution. Any tip? [t]https://s31.postimg.org/k31p6ptdn/no_fit.jpg[/t] Geometry on the neck is not exactly the same as Valve's, but it is on the bottom loop at least (the vertex that should be lined with the ones on the body). Just in case. If I used geometry exactly the same as Valve did in some parts would they consider I copied it and discard the model from the very begining?
I'm having a bit of trouble getting this mod to show up correctly, even on listen servers. I'm not quite sure what the problem is. Later, I even tried installed a custom HUD which changes the health numbers, as this mod is supposed to, in order to test things out; and that worked fine. Any help would be appreciated.
Snip-O
Why not just a pull back animation for the crossbow? Because you could get really creative and use the front handle as a lever to pull it back.

I just installed the mod to my customs/StargazersStuff folder in m TF folder and it works fine pretty much. If not for you, I cannot be sure on why it's not working for you. All I have currently in my customs folder though is that and a bunch of custom first person animation changes now that those are allowed.

I plan on adding more strokes with different hues, using Clinical Professor as a reference. Am I on the right track in terms of stroke density and such?

Otherwise looks pretty solid from a non-contributor's POV.

Maybe it's just the point of view. The hair lines look good, except maybe the ones in the sideburns. Those sideburns and the way the hair is combed above them make me think they are not long enough or dense to have them, maybe a vertical gradient with some strokes would look nice instead. Just suggestions, I have never done hait myself. PS: I still could use some help on advice on rigging that problem of my mask, is the only thing left to do.

I thought the point of that hair was to look like Jerry Seinfelds', so getting rid of those back curls goes against the design.
I found weapon concept I posted well over a year ago on Steam. I want to know if it's any good, and what improvements I can make on it. [t]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/631979140282491405/C5556B4D0CC180584D6FD78263027A9D2EDD9EE2/[/t] Here's the description I had with it.
The orange is Cream Spirit, and the Blue is Waterlogged Lab Coat. The Brown is Radigan Conagher Brown. The Cream Spirit and Waterlogged Lab Coat will change with the team.
i say the whole thing should be cream spirit; it looks too much like the scorch shot colorings
I'd paint the entire weapon cream spirit, and add black highlights and/or stripes

Couldn't resist and started it. I won't submit it if you guys don't want me to do that. I'm gonna make a battery to replace the flare shell Some progress for now, will continue after a lil break. Some parts have to be adjusted to fit the original flare yet.
So picked up work on an older model I had been working on, a mask for the Pyro loosely based off of Annie from the L4D Sacrifice comic. Plan is the hair will be paintable, maybe a second style for painting the back/neck coverings instead. I feel like the front's really plain, but I got nothing for what to do there.
Couldn't resist and started it. I won't submit it if you guys don't want me to do that.
This is widely regarded as a dick move dude.
Can I model it? If you and the original author agree, of course
as much as i'd like to see it modeled (which i've seen you've already started, and i admire the effort that's been put into it!), my work was only there to help aid the other person into some design elements that could possibly be implemented into their idea. i really do appreciate the effort, but as far as how this wasn't really my idea in the first place, i have to respectfully decline what you have so far, since it's not my idea for one, and i sincerely apologize about that since it already looks like you've gotten so far again, i don't know how the original concept artist feels about the proposed redesign i made to guide them and it's their idea and not mine to conduct, so i'm really sorry, man. i didn't mean for things to go this far in any direction, i just wanted to help was all, as i'm sure you did, too. i'd say wait next time around for an official approval from the original creator after more back-and-forth on designs have been made. my input was simply input at the end of things, not a abide-by-everything-you-see-here sorta deal. i can't say sorry enough for any confusions made, i feel really bad about all of this. <:s edit: looks like the guy's alright with it, so looks like no worries in the end, actually. you guys go at it, and good luck!

Awww sorry, didn't want to be rude. I just wanted to practice as I recently came back into modeling. I said I would drop the model if anyone wanted, no problem at all. I tought it was a concept looking for a modeler, I guess I liked too much and jumped too quickly without double-checking. I hope no one felt bad about it, I'm gonna give credit to everyone and listen to any advice or change they might suggest. Then again, sorry.

I hope that the Emporium will be more friendly like this in the future and not hostile, dumb / funny spamming, anti - caring gits. Keep it up, lads, let's stop harming the vulnerable, clogging up the thread with pointless drama and shaming people.
