I'm available!
no offense, but I think you should work on your texturing of your own items before you offer to texture someone else's there are plenty of resources and guides (most linked in the emporium OP) that might help
in all honesty if this gets made and gets in it will sparkle so it would make it even more perfect!
Sadly, only creators of an item can get an item with community sparkle effect too. =X It would look glorious though lol...

looks like a dota 2 item
reminds me of warlock from dota 2
don't get why soldier would wear this tbh :p!
[T]http://darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/file/Dark-Souls-3/slave_knight.jpg[/T][T]https://i.ytimg.com/vi/hHArdhfz2xI/maxresdefault.jpg[/T] it's heavily based on slave knight gael from the Dark Souls 3 DLCs, though largely simplified to its most basic forms as for why he would wear it, couldn't that be said for the large majority of in-game TF2 items? in fact the description of the slave knight set somewhat reflects (in my mind) the personality/role of the soldier "Armor Issued to slave knights. The fine craftsmanship made this a symbol of honor. Long ago, only the Undead served as slave knights, warriors used as fodder in the bleakest of battles. They grew decrepit, their skin charred black and their bones twisted. Eventually they went outright mad, but were never relieved from duty."
That's too much lore for a hat that looks nothing like what its trying to reference.
Something, something, has been said before plenty of times..."An item that doesn't fit doesn't mean you should use it as an excuse to add more items that don't fit..." Something, something... I like the Dark Souls series too, Ikes, but what your saying makes it "fit" is an incredibly vague connection and even then its a huge stretch. I can understand if you're just doing it for fun, mods for fun is something that aren't done enough anymore, but please save us the same argument that we go through every time you make something that doesn't make sense or doesn't fit and then inevitably upload it anyways when the majority of us agree that you shouldn't. Its really not worth my time trying to point the flaws in your arguments out every time we make this roundabout, since you'll never listen anyways.
if I'm going to put in the work to make something I'm passionate about, there is literally no objective reason not to upload it not to mention it fits plenty with the broad spectrum of medieval-themed items for virtually every class And before you rev up your fucking dumb ratings, why don't you give me a single quaintifiable reason why the set I'm making is far too distant in likeness from these other several items and sets NOBODY complained about?
Do custom viewmodel animations only work with mods?
if I'm going to put in the work to make something I'm passionate about, there is literally no objective reason not to upload it [editline]31st March 2017[/editline] not to mention it fits plenty with the broad spectrum of medieval-themed items for virtually every class nobody complained that the scout wearing armor was unfitting so I don't see the big deal?
i'm reading this and i'm thinking we shouldn't even of posted those things now due to you never actually taking advice
you're not fucking giving me advice, you're telling me not to make something with no fucking reasoning as to why you could keep pissing your pants about MUH THEMEING or you could actually articulate some useful information tell me why my set is any different from the rest of the ye olde collection's armored pieces [T]https://puu.sh/v57s5/7f61847d63.png[/T]
you're not fucking giving me advice, you're telling me not to make something with no fucking reasoning as to why you could keep pissing your pants about MUH THEMEING or you could actually articulate some useful information
muh theming is a indication that you should make changes, no? and even if advice were given (for example; the advice given towards your dota 2 gun, or given the patriot peak more polies to give it more of a shape.) you'd just ignore the advice given because you're awfully notorious for having a mindset of "if i did work already; i don't want to go back and change it because i don't want to put in more work than i already have." you want reasoning? the outfit you're giving him is nicely created however i'm pretty sure a self-proclaimed soldier who hunted down nazis would not be trying to look like a druid willing to sell me some strong potions you want advice? fine. don't make the shirt that color of beige; because from a distance it would be harder to tell out what the soldier actually was. i would offer more advice but i don't want to just pointlessly offer more advice for it to be most likely ignored.
but apparently theme doesnt apply to any other class? the advice on the color is noted but I don't see why medieval clothing is so out of the ordinary in your mind even though we have a medieval gamemode and several medieval weapons and even an entire class loaded with medieval gear. This wouldn't be the first time medieval attire is introduced to a class and it certainly isnt exclusive to the demoman either, which is why your argument is so piss fucking poor. Soldier himself already has multiple medieval helmets to choose from in-game
Seriously will yall lay off ikes, your all complete dicks to him then you wonder why hes salty some of the time anyways hes not hurting anyone by working on tings that he enjoys, just let him enjoy his hobby.
hey Gamers, yall making team fortress 2 items?????????
hey Gamers, yall making team fortress 2 items?????????
No, just Dark Souls and Dota items.

If somebody IS saying that, then they're in the wrong. The reason you get so much flak for your items compared to other people is because you go nuclear at criticism sometimes (better than you used to but still fairly defensive) It's difficult to judge whether your item would be any different from the existing medieval items but then 90% of them never end up added into the game and the ones that do are usually the subtle ones
No, just Dark Souls and Dota items.
Honestly it looks pretty far from either style. As far as actually trying to go for Gael though; it was mentioned earlier but the beige should be reworked to something else. At a glance it looks like beige is the color of his leggings but that's just his skin really. The guy isn't wearing any pants if you look close enough. Could probably get away with reducing the top to just a cowl and beard. Would give you plenty more triangles to work with while still being a nod to the character.

Cos you do really good work! (The WIP model of Gael I think says that enough). But you certainly are a bit sensitive, and I think you're overlooking what are very valid complaints about your design Basically, don't dismiss what other people are saying about your set. What got me in particular was the other quoted post you made, comparing your set to a Medieval Mode item. If it were a generic knight set, or something based on historical reference that'd be one thing (IE: I'd say you'd arguably had a case if it were, say, based on the Elite Knight set or something). And well, sometimes a cigar is a cigar, don't call your set anything aside from what it is, which is a Dark Souls reference (techically a Berserk reference? It's Dark Souls, basically the same thing haha). In terms of reference items, subtlety is the order of the day. I wish I had a picture of that sailor-totally-not-Jotaro-Kujo set FiveEyes is working on, because it's the perfect example. It's nice to preserve the reference for something fans will recognize, certainly. But what's MUCH more important is making a visually appealing item that stands on it's own merits; making it look good as an item that works in TF rather than a blatant Dark Souls reference set. Here's some critiques, I agree the set doesn't really work for Soldier. Since most people would compare it to a druid style look, I'd argue the cowl could work a bit better on Medic (that and he already has gloves). The beard could make a nice all-class thing if done right. Doing the whole set for one class? I feel as if that might be misplaced effort. EDIT: Thanks Metabolic for the visual aid: [t]http://i.imgur.com/k46tRxi.png[/t] This is exactly what I mean. Like you KNOW it's a JoJo reference (and the marine biologist angle is also a cute easter egg), but it looks really neat when stripped of any context and reference.
I think it looks fine, but I appear to be an outlier.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/oZVRuGP.png[/t]
Might be just me, but that Sniper logo on his chest doesn't seem to fit.
its because its off angle and it might need some more work on its desing to match the theme. something along the lines of this for example.
