also ike's cowl seems to be asuming the shoulders wont fuck up once he's out of the t pose. TF2's models tend to do that on anything over its shoulders.
i'd rather remove the gloves and add more details to the arms.
shoulder's probably aren't too bad, it's the armpits you gotta look out for

BainTrain will never leave our hearts
I'm honestly a little worried for Vipes now. Like is BainTrain just gonna hunt him down, Liam Neeson style? Guy just can't let go of this ridiculous grudge
Well might as well post something positive:

Just noticed this, it's a really cool design! The new emblem is a much more appealing design than the giant crosshair. If I had to find a critique the cravat feels a bit unecessary? And maybe slim the tabard a little bit, I worry making it too wide might mess with Sniper's silhouette. Otherwise a fantastic set, hope someone claims this

Duly noted!

The idea while working on this was to try and stay accurate to historical katanas. But I guess this ended up being a pointless catch 22 since it's also a wrench as well, and it does look better with the bigger edge. Thanks for the input.

Wow, someone actually did it. If it was BainTrain i would be annoyed but sadly not surprised. I'll probably send an email to Valve later, as one of the contributors, hopefully they'll respond before it gets taken down.

My only criticism is that the tie seems pretty huge.
Other than that, great set.

I've updated the picture with a smaller tie, hopefully that's fixed now. Thanks for telling me!
Maybe do away with Heavy's gloves.
Sadly can't. That'd be incredibly costly on the polys for an already huge item, and may also make it incompatible with the Heavy's gloves.

Looks much better now, hope its picked up soon. Its a really strong design.
IMHO a skinny tie and lapels would make sense on Heavy's frame. His head is sort of big while he has a small face, just to draw attention to how big he is; if you make the tie/lapels small too, it would make him look bigger.
add buttons to suit
Hey, so I am doing one "last" update to TFMV and by that I mean as in I'll most likely won't be doing new feature updates to TFMV anymore, except maybe for exceptional cases if Valve changes something to the game and it completely breaks TFMV.
So if I you have some feature(s) you'd like to see implemented, now is the time to let me know - PM me.
Can't promise anything though, I'll probably only implement things if it isn't too much trouble.

Current fixes/changes/new features for the next version:
Fixed: items not being listed if they had model styles but no default model defined.
Fixed: automatically turning off bodygroups for item with model styles.
Fixed: properly resetting skins for workship-zip loaded items when re-editing the loadout (workshop item skins could get locked in blue skin)
Changed: disabled (annoying) warning errors for missing materials files ("Error: could not find material..." and "Error: invalid vmt path...").
Changed: when opening a loadout file, the file browser opens on the TFMV app loadout directory.
Added: button at the bottom of the items list to expand UI vertically.
Added: button to increase the TFMV height (display 6x6 items in list, instead of 6x3)
TFMV compact:
[t]http://i.imgur.com/uxiS6ZS.jpg[/t]
TFMV expanded (6x6 items)
[t]http://i.imgur.com/s1IfQJ3.jpg[/t]
Another feature I experimented with and is functional ... but I am not sure if to keep is screenshots with transparency.
As you may know HLMV's built in screenshot feature has always been broken for most GPUs.
The way TFMVwould take screenshots with transparency is by having a custom model(attachment) as background, its just a sphere model with a flat material, surrounding the player model.
Then it takes two screenshots, one with the background being white and a second black bg.
From those two images it calculates the alpha mask and generates a PNG with transparent background.
However the shortcoming of this, is, it needs to refresh HLMV for the screenshots and when you do that, HLMV resets the animation selected frame, so if you had set the character in a certain animation frame for a specific pose, this transparency thing won't work as the pose will be reset for the second screenshot used to generate transparency.
Knowing that, let me know if you stil would like to see this (optional) feature included, rate or .

Your wrap on the grip looks a little off, while im not saying a braid is incorrect or anything (i have no idea really) i think the "typical" style would look better with its straight lines

The strips need a little depth to them anyway, sure most will be covered by the hand but the rest will be very close to the camera.
Alright! I'm putting this AKSU up for grabs again; It just needs a texture!

Not that there's anything wrong with wanting to do this idea yourself, but do any other long-time Emporium users remember this? I could almost swear someone did this idea a few years ago

I'd advise you not to change the general locations of colors on a character. Silhouettes are important for character recognition, but so are the distributions of colors. Sniper normally has red arms, a dark vest, and a red opening in the vest. It seems unimportant, but blur your eyes while looking at this
[t]http://i.imgur.com/Iy5fUKs.png[/t]
and then blur your eyes while looking at this
[t]http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/teamfortress/images/8/8f/Sniper.png/revision/latest?cb=20150127180939[/t]
The concept art is a LOT harder to distinguish as sniper because his entire torso is red.
As a personal style thing, I also usually find designs that alter the color distributions to look really weird too. That's pretty subjective but I think there's some kind of psychological factor to seeing tens of thousands of mercs over the years that if you change up the coloration too much it just looks unappealing to me.
On a less technical note, I feel like this, similar to Ike's item, doesn't fit the character of sniper so well. At the very least the hat seems really over-exaggerated on the proportions, and gives it more of a wacky feel than I think necessarily fits sniper.

Interesting idea. I chose the thick lapels cos they were more suitable to the time period and I figured a big guy like Heavy would like big lapels, but the smaller ones also seem to work. I dunno which to choose so please vote

Personally I much prefer the shape of the larger lapels, they are much more distinct. Perhaps you could try reducing the size of the lapels in that version while retaining the shapes you've used?
Also, minor thing, maybe add a chest pocket?
