Still working on this, but either than that this is totally up for being claimed!
I love the overall design of this, but I'm not sure if long hair (especially such beautiful locks) would fit Heavy's character. Have ya tried this on any other character? I think it could look great on Medic and Engineer, perhaps Sniper as well.
Toned down the AO in some places, added some detail all around, and made a stripe pattern for the tie. They're a different colour from the rest of the shirt.

Guys, please help me. I'm doing, with my team composed of The Winglet, Kostamoinen, EyeCandryMovies (a new SFM artist), a few minor animators a Saxxy Entry for this year based on ghostbusters. As the four protagonists are Soldier, Pyro, Demo and Medic, we need at least those four folks in a ghostbusters-like jumpsuit. However, every modeler of mine left (Populus, Kowalo etc...) If there's someone who can do this, even a shittly made but useable mesh editing of those four folks, please contact me. I tried EVERYTHING and contacted EVERYONE. You'll get even to contribute but please, help me. If I wrote this in the wrong thread, I'm sorry, but I don't know wherelse to post.
pyro and medic have suits in the workshop, you can try to contact the item makers for permission to use them http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=478832016&searchtext= http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=478830296 http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=330514337 http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=185550169 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=534801112&searchtext=

Infact, they would have had their own suits that matched even the colors. We weren't going to use normal models.

I guess I chose the heavy because he's the larger class, which can be said the same for Bolt Crank and being a very tall character. Also because of this being done:
So after seeing Hawf's Starless Campaigner and FiveEyes's Magic Medicine, I was inspired to create a true masterpiece. So, first time I've ever made a model or texture. I have my model unwrapped, but when I bake it, the AO comes out super dark. It's practically inverted, with the underside of the hat being brighter than the top. When I check the model out in texture view, it's entirely black. What's up with all that? For context, I'm using the most recent version of Blender. EDIT: Slight correction; in textured view, the underside of the hat looks just as it's supposed to, the AO is already perfect there. For some reason, it's only the upper side of the hat that's solid black. EDIT 2: It seems that the hat is actually textured, the AO is just absorbing way too much light. It needs to be extremely close to a light source to show any shading at all.
delete all the lights from your blender scene
Ppft, dunno why I didn't think of that. Granted, in the time I spent troubleshooting this, I found like five other things I'd done wrong with this model. Just hadn't thought to get rid of the lights. Thanks, yo.
didnt this used to have camo?
It did, but we came to the conclusion that it was too visually noisy with the camo. Seeing as it already had the small details from the items strapped on the side and the class icons on the front.

Merc Of The Murray Something a little bit early for the Scream Fortress stuff, but this has been a concept I've been working on and off for a few days. The set idea is that it turns the Sniper into a bunyip, which is a mythical creature of Australian Aboriginal mythology. Evidence about how these creatures look vary a lot, but a lot of the key features a lot of sightings use are walrus-like tusks, head like a horse/crocodile, dark fur and webbed feet. While I'm working on something that's a good two months early, I do wish to get some sort of feedback on this idea, such as recommendations of colours or how to make this idea appear more like an aquatic mammal. The other thing is that this idea's just too vague and probably wouldn't translate that well to TF2.
I guarantee you 99% of tf2 players won't know what a bunyip is. Focus on making the theme of your concepts recognizable at first glance, don't base them on obscure references.
I guarantee you 99% of tf2 players won't know what a bunyip is. Focus on making the theme of your concepts recognizable at first glance, don't base them on obscure references.
That's been one of my main concerns about this, because compared to western mythical creatures and urban legends, a lot of people won't understand a majority of Australia's more obsurer stuff. Even though this set's pretty much a lost cause for me, one idea I had was to base it off the Murray Bridge Bunyip, which is this this tourist attraction in South Australia which... totally didn't scar me for life as a child: That being said, I did have a hunch that this wouldn't work out 100%, but I still wanted to hear some feedback about this and if it'd work or not. I do appreciate you explaining why this doesn't work on a conceptual level, and that I'll definitely keep that in mind for future concepts.
Merc Of The Murray [t]https://puu.sh/qts8y/d8dc31422c.png[/t]
I didn't know sniper's canon name was actually "Donut Steel" but in all seriousness this looks way too furry, even if it is supposed to be a bunyip, most people aren't going to get the reference and assume it's just a furry.
The Medic's dog head is dangerously furry already, even though it's a reference to a very famous medical experiment. Let's not go any further than that.
