btw here's the mod for the thing above.
texture on the left is the old one they used before the november 2nd 2012 patch and the one on the right is the one that's currently used (goddamnit i spent like 20 years typing that out and didn't notice that there was a typo in the sentence.) as far as i know i don't think an actual release of the old texture has been found but (i blame google for being dumb and not giving results for what you want)
This is a heavy heavy HEAVY wip for me, another little something I'm working on and off for this upcoming Scream Fortress. Pmuch a Scout set called The Humann Typhoon, pretty much making him look like Vash the Stampede from Trigun. I chose him based on how both of them act like dorks in certain situations (and also because Scout surely doesn't have enough cosmetic sets nosirree) but making this set for the spy can be doable, but a bit odd due to the hair. The trenchcoat's still in its draft, as I wish to improve the shape of the sleeves, the shoulders and the size of the buttons, but I really wouldn't mind suggestions on colour choices and some details I should add. Also for reference sake:
like I said last time, don't make concepts based on references not everyone's gonna get. Think about what it looks like to people who don't know what you're referencing, probably a dork with goofy hair in a weird frock covered in buttons.

You sure that people will get the references there?
Didn't you recently do a couple of items referencing Berserk and Jojo's Bizarre Adventures? You sure that people will get the references there?
No they were just regular concepts that weren't references to anything.
No they were just regular concepts that weren't references to anything.
oh whoopsiedoodles my mistakerino
A lot of the anime style clothing you've been making, while good, doesn't really match TF2's aesthetic at all. Despite what a lot of recent cosmetics might be telling you, this game is still supposed to be set in the late 60s and early 70s
"Sentry ahead!" level 2 Artillery Sentry [t]http://i.imgur.com/FxRy9Ns.png[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/f9MvhnF.png[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/fJCA47R.png[/t] Comparing to level 1 [t]http://i.imgur.com/QK9kE2T.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/7xMKjiz.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/sEHH0AC.png[/t] Currently Im testing with some concepts for the lvl 2 sentry. I decided to use the lewis gun as a good differences to the original lvl 2 sentry with its bullet chain and the minigun. On the other hand im unsure if its going too far away from the original concept of a tf2 sentry. An other thing is the shield. At the beginning of creating the lvl 1 sentry, I decided to remove the shields during its upgrade to lvl 2. But now Im unsure to remove these, since they are a good reference to the artillery theme but taking a lot of space of the appearance. [t]http://i.imgur.com/Of809HA.png[/t] Im also looking for a good cover of the front side of the main ammobox. Atm I leave there a placeholder laser eye. Update:
Im gonna put now the shields together so there wont be any confusion with lvl 1 sentry [t]http://i.imgur.com/B73dWzb.png[/t] I also sized up the Lewis magazins to make the bullets bigger and to put the lewis theme more in the spotlight [t]http://i.imgur.com/Esn3ORq.png[/t]
Comments are appreciated!

I'm real glad you got back into making tf2 things Kiyoshi, I always loved your stuff.

Like people have already mentioned, it doesn't quite mesh well with TF2's art style very well. Plus Vash's jacket looks a bit too bulky on scout. In my opinion, your best concepts are definitely the ones that aren't reliant on one single reference you need to understand to appreciate. The Mad Dog set, for example, is absolutely gorgeous and is clearly inspired by anime-y and Neo-Tokyo style stuff but isn't reliant on going "I know who that character is" to enjoy
"Sentry ahead!" level 2 Artillery Sentry
I don't think many people here support this opinion, but i think that instead of increasing fire rate like the normal sentry this one could increase firepower. At level two the barrel could slide out and become more cannon-like, and when finally upgraded to the third level the dual bren guns would burst out to increase fire rate at close quarters. This is quite the opposite of the standard sentry gun, which increases fire rate at first, but at last level has a slow secondary attack with large AoE. I am not sure how this would affect gameplay, but like i said it is just an opinion. On a side note, you wouldn't have to combine or move the front shield at level two, and the gun would have a certain consistency between the upgrades.
How many tris should a high-quality lod have max?
1400 for lod0, 1000 for lod1, 700 for lod2
Does anyone know how the turning anims work for mannrobics or the zoomin broom? Are there like hidden blend anims or something?

They hit hard and have a big impact in the surrounding area's to throw off the enemy. They're not machine guns that continuously fire. The jacket is probably going to be the hardest piece to make work in the long run. When it comes to identifying the idea behind the concepts though, I see more people thinking the hair was based off of Dragon Ball ( most notibly Teen/Adult Gohan's hairstyle ) then from Vash from Trigun. Mostly because the sketch the hair is too short compared to Vash's. But in all honesty I think the shorter hair looks better anyway then extending it to the length Vash has his IMO.
So how about any pyro concepts?
So how about any pyro concepts?
Possibly not the type of concepts your looking for: [T]http://i.imgur.com/p98pBOX.png[/T][T]http://i.imgur.com/yrerS0b.png[/T] These were pretty old, meant for Halloween, and might be on the verge of some legal trouble. I like to call them "Terrestrial Tim".

Needs eyes and access to the CAPPER for pyro though to work completely!
Maybe somewhere halfway? Left seems too snake-y and right seems just a tad awkward
concept dude doesnt want the widows peak showing much but it's p much impossible to do that with this hairline, so i agree that the right one looks lame and awkward

Only took this long for heavy to get a proper Viking helmet, even though he's had the Viking braider for god knows how long. Wasn't the Viking braider supposed to get updated earlier this year? What happened to that?
Valve quit shipping item updates after Mayflower IIRC.
They updated some on the 31st of May but none after that, though I don't know of any non-multiclass updates that have been submitted since then.

With how the Heavy holds his arms when carrying his weapons, you wouldn't be able to see those thin bands on his sleeves.
