I'm updating my TF2 Pistol mod into a TIP Pistol Pack with the Pistol, Pocket Pistol, & Winger (Not Sure about the Lugermorph)
Right now I'm on the Pistol and it's going to be the hardest cause I have to make it skin compatible and I completely Redid the UVs to fit the extra stuff I added.
I changed a few things on the VMTs to give it more of a Metallic Shine
This Pack as a whole is FAR from finished
I new that phong was effecting the look of the tf2 weapons but wow thats actually a amazing comparison that shows the true power of phong. Also the model and slide looks pretty good so far.

Yay, you're back! Just remember that Valve has (finally) updated the PBPP's model and the new one uses a different path from the old one - it's in models/workshop/weapons/c_models.
I mostly noticed it at 0:12, he lifts the gun up and upside down with no extra force or anything. I know Heavy's a strong guy and you have a limited timeframe to work with in these animations, but it just looks a bit light to me. The initial lift up is actually quite good.
Thanks, I'll take a look more into that
Is the importer crashing for anyone else? I can open an existing zip file or browse for a backpack icon perfectly fine but whenever I click the button to browse for a model file the game just quits. Furthermore the screen turns black so that I have to disconnect and reconnect the HDMI cable.

Do you know the directory it's looking in when you browse for model? Remove everything from it.
for me it crashes when I have a vtf in that folder that is directly taken from a workshop zip
Thanks! I didn't know the exact folder but temporarily renaming my projects root folder fixed it.

Yeah I think it does this for any file taken from a workshop zip! Did it for SMDs for me.

actually, while im already posting, i managed to break the C-drive on my main computer so I'll probably not be reachable on steam since m on this calculator of an excuse for a computer that needs its full processing power for basically anything
and i stll haven't found out for sure, but there's still a risk that all my texture psds are lost cause im an idiot who doesn't back sht up despite having a TB worth of external storage space and a proper dropbox subscription...
the moral of the story is always make backups!
I don't want to be a burden, but do you still have the Bursting Betty files? I've always wanted to see a mod for the it replacing the Pomson as it's a very beautiful model.
I'm hoping you guys can help give me some insight on another project I've been working on.
Right now I'm trying to figure out the color scheme and I'm iffy on what color should go on what.

Since Big Bob & I are still working on he Navy/Submarine Engineer set, it just hit me like a tonne of bricks that 90% of the comments for the submission are going to be comparing the naval cap we're working on to Bill's Hat or Skull Cap.
That's gonna be fun...

The Crit Kit
Major Question!
I genuinely want to get some Decorated skins made for an item that I've been working on and I'm willing to put about sixty dollars to get about six skins maybe more made but here's the conflict if I'm paying someone to do the work, would i still need to give them a percentage on workshop? as the idea behind workshop is essentially an IOU if the item is accepted but wouldn't paying them to do the work be buying out their percentage?

from the way the workshop licence agreement is written it leads me to believe that you are required to credit and share the revenue with anyone who has contributed to your submissions.
Group Contributions. You may submit a Contribution to which others besides you have contributed (a “Group Contribution”). You must identify all other contributors (“Contributors”) in the submission webform, provide their names and contact information, and specify revenue split percentages among the Contributors. Valve will contact the identified Contributors. All Contributors must agree to the application of these Supplemental Workshop Terms to the Group Contribution, confirm their personal information, and agree to the specified revenue split before any payments can be made to any Contributor. Valve will then remit amounts due under Section 1 to each Contributor in accordance with the revenue split percentages specified and approved by you and the other Contributors.
it's also worth noting that contributors are paid every single time an item/key is purchased until the end of time (or tf2) and considering that item revenues can range from a few thousand dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars, it would make more sense to give a revenue share % to make sure the person you're collaborating with is appropriately compensated for the work they've done relative to the amount of money the item makes.
thousand dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars
jesus christ really? some of the more major item contributors must be living pretty comfy if this is true
jesus christ really? some of the more major item contributors must be living pretty comfy if this is true
Above and beyond completely true! Some contributors are very very comfy with the amount they've made, especially outside TF2. And thankfully we're actually totally allowed to say what our general sum made is, since it's not against the agreement to say a generalized # of how much we've made monetarily.
However we can't list specifics, such as %'s per contributor or per case or whatever, or units sold, since those are the kind of things that can help someone very easily get a pretty concrete-ish number about how much valve makes annually through microtransactions alone.
