needs some stronger normals. I can't really tell if it has them at all at this point, looks like the details are primarily textured on. the AO is pretty groddy too and could use touching up
thanks, every critique matters on this one lol
I've had good look and I think that it's safe to say that The Surgeon's Sidearm could use alot of improving. There are no sharp edges anywhere, which is especially a problem considering the tools, some of the objects are textured on, like the nails and the straps Also, I would've moved it up the arm so that the Medic doesn't inject him self whilst using a weapon
This looks like it was designed for a completely different game imo. Fits right in with World of Warcraft, not too sure about TF2
looks like borderlands to me 90% of the models in those games lack sharp edges, which is supplemented by thick, dominating borders and flat cel shading

I feel it's too strong of a colour and doesn't exactly seem to fit the game's palette. If it were perhaps dulled out a bit, maybe a bit more reddish-grey or more of a natural, earthy tone, it could work. [T]https://puu.sh/rZlbd/308362be2e.png[/T] These're just a couple of browns I whipped up as some examples.

TBH I have a weird feeling about the hair. It sort of looks like fudge :pudge:
TBH I have a weird feeling about the hair. It sort of looks like fudge :pudge:
I'd say it's more like when you take a bite out of a soft caramel, or taffy. There's a lot of length to the front end of the hair. I get that it's already on the Workshop, but for future reference, it's best for when designing hair, especially styled hair, to consider what the hair would look like without any product in it. Without a bit of product, that hair looks like it'd naturally rest somewhat short throughout, except for the center front of it, which would be over neck-length long. Also, the absurdity of the source material doesn't justify every instance of stylization. You can still carry on with your strange crusade of creating every cosmetic possible in Street Fighter's vision without going 1:1 with each reference, especially on the more insane proportions that game is known for. Take some artistic liberties to have your item work as it's own thing more than just something that people need to know the reference to in order to fully grasp its design choices.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/tcpJSQD.png[/t] ditched the jacket, overhauled the hair again. (still) Claimable, feedback appreciated. one day I'll have something worth making, I swear

Same argument as before - the over the top stylization of Street Fighter doesn't carry over well to TF2, especially when it comes to how hair is handled. At least in Street Fighter, a character's hair is as equally over-the-top as the rest of their design most of the time. It doesn't carry over well to TF2 without some artistic liberties taken to make it better fit the rest of the world. All other Scout hair items in-game that aren't promotional are very much grounded in the TF2 style of realistic, but stylized. Same can be said for most other classes and their respective items - even the majority of Workshop submissions and even Don's hair above yours. There comes a point where stylized hair looks less rooted in reality and more like something you'd see on a Lazytown character, its definitely a fine line and you might be stepping over it a bit in an attempt to make it closer to the source material. Also, do whatever you want with your items, but seeing each of your Street Fighter item uploads used to advertise your self-proclaimed Street Fighter shitposting Facebook group just feels off. But, your items, your rules.

the spikes in the back of the hair dont look good, you should remove those

It's one thing to make a subtle reference item now and then but trying to shoehorn all of these Street Fighter items is kind of awkward, especially when they haven't been stylized well enough for TF2.

The adon-inspired set for example is mostly just traditional muay thai fighting attire, so it wouldnt be very out there regardless [editline]30th October 2016[/editline] also: coming soon
