The Jackhat is 2,767 tris. Not even joking. [sp]But when it was in the game files pre-MyM, it was 13,993 tris[/sp]

As long as there are good LODs, I think even 7k is fine. I wouldn't really go any higher though. Dead Ringer is like 10k tris isn't it? Anyhow, plenty of wiggle room with weapons. Edit: ah 6.5 "limit" eh? I bet if Valve wanted to ship a specific weapon they wouldn't pay that limit much mind tbh.

i dunno, I feel there are stranger, more outlandish things in-game and on the workshop that are pretty well received unless you mean the style of the model rather than the theme

It also seems somewhat counter productive for Pyro to have a weapon made of wood. All that aside, The model looks good and i'll be interested to see it finished and textured.
