I'm considering paintability, but I'm not sure if it's necessary. Here's some of the paint tests I've done:
Single paintable flower

Total paintable trio

Trio inner gradient

I'll be honest, I don't think either of those three paint options work all that well.
Make the entire flower paintable rather than just the petals!
Make the entire flower paintable rather than just the petals!
I think its still good to have some colour variation, rather then just make it all the same.
Invert the gradient so the middle area is the original color while the rest is the paint color
Can barely see the difference with the gradient one at first glance. Too subtle to work imo

Are you trying to get more reskins in the game?
We want weapons, not reskins.
Look at the spy-cycle, that's a festive weapon!
Alright! Rather festive mad milk.

as much as this is a cool concept
don't you think that you shouldn't festivize community made weapons?
Festivizing any weapons is a pretty wasted effort either way imo, if you do it for the workshop they won't get added anyways. If you do them for fun there's way more interesting stuff to work on

It kind of worked on the Kritzkrieg because it's just a cover for the medi gun, but putting sweaters on everything else looks a little forced
Cross-post from the Wonderland thread, this time with an actual thumbnail

Personally, I'd treate Mad Milk like they did Jarate. But instead possibly make it Eggnog themed since that's a popular drink this time of year if I recall.
Guess it could also work for a melee replacement of Demoman's stock bottle I guess since Eggnog is Alcoholic if my memory serves me right.
We don't talk about that. Those were (mostly) dark times.
I still blame Dapper Topper for ruining Valve's openness to cosmetic updates.
I'm still getting Flak here and there from traders saying I was trying to ruin the economy with asking for stuff to go all class...
I guess legal matters are the one thing valve will respond to.
The canteen has been put back up.
Edit: I also removed the all the comments regarding the matter from the comment section.
in the end, glad to see you guys came out on top. VLEK's reputation in the community here has been irrevocably impaired to boot (tbh not like it was spectacular to begin with).
I don't wish any ill will on the guy, but saying that I don't think he deserved this reputational outcome would be a lie. I hope your treasure canteen gets the exposure it deserves, as it's a great-looking item.

If you end the animation on a frame near identical to the first frame, you can create a seamless loop.
Also, if you key out the background you can place the clouds behind the head to avoid screen clutter. Then just make a background on a separate layer below the cloud

Thanks.
Edited it (still have to fix the sheeps a bit)
Those sheep seem pretty happy
I love the idea of it but the handle is covered by his hand, It'd be better to add something to the blade as well
Possibly a candy cane paintjob similar to the Festive Bonesaw might work
Eggnog
I don't know, it wouldn't work for the bottle because you would need to retexture the entire time just to see the eggnog and the madmilk does this already and more!

Just reposting this from the last page if anyone missed it (The original had hair, but I'm not too proud of that for now).
Wanna make something Cowboy Bepbopboop related, so I'm giving the Sniper Spike's coat. This is still a very heavy wip, but to make this more team coloured, should I:
1: Add more red to the coat, such as team coloured armbands with the Sniper's insigna on them
2: Do what the Commissar's Coat did and have the coat a darker shade of red/blue
The original was also going to include a tie which could be paintable, but the quiver's strap covers it so it didn't seem like it'd work.
Due to the Netflix series coming out soon, I'll go ahead and toss in this POS concept I made last Halloween.

this is what i was gonna suggest
is making a texture sheet paintable actually difficult? I kinda want to try something but it'd be making an entire robot body sheet paintable.

It needs more team colouring, yeah. You've covered up a lot to begin with, and with the position his arms will most commonly be in, holding or scoped into a sniper rifle, you'll see even less of that.
There isn't really any elegant way to do it with a suit jacket, your best bet would just be team coloured bands, or something like the Snow Scoper's white patches, replacing them with team colours instead and having the original suit colour on the inside.

do it like the chronomancer
nice stripes
The Chronomancer's stripes have the problem of being too thin, and as a result they aren't perfectly visible from every angle. Try and keep that in mind if you go for that method.
