I still don't know why you're making concepts of festive weapons for community made weapons
I still don't know why you're making concepts of festive weapons for community made weapons
Would be so kind to explain why this is a bad thing? It's just i'd like to know why.
If you want to actually want to see these festive weapons in the game, you and Valve would need to get permission from the original creator(s). This does not apply for a weapon made by Valve.
Then there's the issue of revenue sharing.
Even if this is all just for practice, people will not likely pay any serious attention to it unless it is for a Festive overhaul mod. This is only one of many ways of getting practice.
What if they released a festivizer that could be applied to that weapon, just as they did with the strange gorbert items?
Snip-O
That would have to be a pure valve action and unless valve updates the workshop agreement and adds a clause allowing content creators to festivizer existing items and update them for other events, they could likely get DMCA for using another creators item.
As for Revenue sharing, you think valve would be paying people for the festive model not the item.

I can understand you point, but being one who loves festive loadouts ( I collect them ). I'd kill for a Festive Degreaser, which has been one of the Pyro's best primaries since it was released. Yet, years later we still don't have one, or even an aussie degreaser yet.
I guess I'd have to hope someone down the line would just make a completely new skin and hope Valve tacts on the degreaser stats and not make it a stock flamethrower reskin? lol
reposting coz I was page bottom, oops

Cross post from the winter workshop, two cosmetic ideas (Jacob Marley Heavy, and a stylish hoodie for the Scout), and two unusual particle effect ideas. Free for anybody to claim, would love to work with a 3D modeler/particle effect artist on these.

So why are you doing exactly that
if the item fits over the ingame model a la the kritzkrieg's... kritzkrieg bit, i dont really see an issue honestly
should probably put the author of the item on your revenue sharing thou

Hello everyone,
So me and a few friends were finishing up a medic coat and I went to test it in game to see if painting was working... But this happened?

I'm confused due to it being rigged in blender with no flaws

and when in tf2 it seems as if the coat itself should be on the medic itself but the coordinates have it so that coat is behind him more than the front.
out of edit mode, check if the location/rotation of the coat is all 0 for all 3 translation and 3 rotation coordinates (tab opens when pressing n), if it's not 0, make them zero and move the mesh IN edit mode to line up with the mesh. (easiest is to copy the values and paste them in the translations needed instead of eyeballing it), then it's always a good idea to reparent the item to the skeleton

Why is it bright red? It would look perfectly fine with the default labcoat colour.

I haven't used Blender in a couple of years now, but iirc, you can simply press Ctrl+A to reset location and rotation+scale, which usually fixes the issue without having to move the mesh.
