So I've tried the fix for TFMV that was posted somewhere a while ago, and while all the Blue Moon items are now listed, when I click Loadout to HLMV the loadout window just doesn't open. The cosmetic paint options are there, it's just that the window with the model isn't opening. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?
I had the same problem and I fixed it by verifying the integrity of the game files. If you didn't know how to do that, right click on TF2 in steam and click properties, then navigate to local files in the window that pops up and press verify integrity of game files. Once it completes that it should be fixed.
A patch for the original TFMV has also been released which returns all the removed features, so you can also get that on the TFMV guide if you want to

my cranium set is like the one on the left but with the big steel jaw. I like the combo although the lack of body cosmetics makes it feel off. I do have team-colored spell paint on the goggles, though, so they look real neat every so often.

Chang the glasses and paint the Cotton Head to match whatever color you want to use on the coat. Just orange/team spirit if you don't want to paint the coat
I could try changing out the glasses, but for the Cotton Head I think I'll keep the color as is since I also use it on the Engie.
I pretty much have the same pyro loadout; if you really wanna get it looking good, I recommend painting the hot case Air of Debonair
Also, give the tomb readers + after eight a go! It's a pretty sweet look
