Yeah, it doesn't but it has an effect on drama, and people seem to think that because you are host that the emporium will be riddled and "destroyed" with ponies, or that you'll be lazy and won't accept mods, or be biased and won't accept mods. Either way, Daimao needs to be host to keep the drama down, but they'll complain about something else.

As a graphic designer, I've had my work stolen and used for the idiot's own personal gain, but I didn't cry about it. (I almost filed a law suit. :v:)
See, late last spring/ summer mods were being pumped out left and right and there was practically no fighting. It was a time of bliss.
But people moved on, got sick of TF2 and their items not getting in (notably Nzdjh, but he did get some shit in), and naturally stopped releasing/ modeling.
Then naturally, new people started to come in and model. Vonwilbur, Sexy Robot, Eeshton, Zebus, Bigbadrick, etc. Mods were made and released, and everyone was happy.
But some of the aforementioned people left for unknown reasons, and it came down to basically 3 modelers, Spark, Eeshton and Bigbadrick. (I apologize if I missed anyone; I try my best to keep up with this thread.)
Accusations, arguments and ponies occurred, and now there's fighting in this thread when we could be having great discussions about weapons.
Sparkwire will model ponies, everyone grow the fuck up or ignore him.
He'll model what he wants and you can't stop him.
He'll release his models if he wants, it's his right, the only serious obligation I can think of him releasing it to, if he ever decides, is the Clever Girl to Left_4_Pillz, as he created the concept. Yes I can get tired of him not releasing his work, but I don't have it so what can I do? Nothing. Sure I can whine and bitch here, but that just pisses people off.
And yet, even though while I type this, we're all human. We're going to argue about models. We're going to argue about ponies. We're going to argue about Sparkwire never releasing his models.
What we need is less of it.
Daimao will host the next emporium, but does that mean the fighting will stop? No.

I was here during it's prime, it has nothing to do with the host, more to do with the people complaining but also to do with the fact that TF2 is dwindling in popularity among Facepunch.

With any mass public association, there will be complaining, no two minds meet at the same logic point, so to speak, everyone will complain, it's human nature, HOWEVER, that does not justify the complaining, while it is human nature, human will is stronger and we can choose to be more mature than to post about every nitpicking thing that bothers us. Of course, sometimes, it is helpful, when you complain about something on a model, it helps the modeler fix that problem.

It was not a time of bliss, by far, it wasn't AS bad as it is now, but there was still drama, still complaining. Every always looks back to a time where things were slightly better and due to the fact that memory deteriorates, you over-exaggerate because you liked the time back then.
There are more modelers than just me, spark, and bigbadrick, they just aren't as active as we three are.
