On another note, I'm torn between using the items I have for self gain or just giving them away. I'm generous enough but I have the will to collect everything in the game. What do?

Collect and give the duplicated things away. That's what I do.

Use them for personal gain until you get what you want then, if you want, you can give things away. Those are you items, you can do what you want with them.
