If you were watching b4nny's stream you can tell that the balance changes didn't have much to do with him. How about we don't blame him for balances, especially ones none of us have even been able to actually try yet.
Currently decompiling the passtime maps to look for secret things, and maybe how to get the achievements. Will post in a bit with my findings.
Just got on a community server with no connection to the item server and this was probably the first time I've played the game in years without dropping frames at all. We'll have to see how well these optimizations carry over into gameplay with cosmetics and other such things, but I like what I see so far. So buttery smooth.
valve's fix to item server - "let's just wait until there's less people on"

Maybe the casual penalties are a bug because of how fucked up valve servers are right now, confusing both casual and comp, like mvm and comp previously for example. ...I hope.

still no Iron Curtain strangifier? God damn, was really hoping for that.
I love everything about Casual play, except its name. It's not casual play, there's skill ratings and penalty for leaving. It's literally 12v12 comp. Why not call it that? The real Casual mode is the drop-in drop-out community servers.
Can you guys check if the quantum crouch is still there? Thanks
Can you guys check if the quantum crouch is still there? Thanks
Still there.
What? I always use it, just read the info in the mode and map and MAGIC, you enter the mode and map that you want
I loaded it up, and I got a cascade of 2000 servers loading all at once in a huge overwhelming list. As I tried to sort it, more and more servers kept loading, moving around the server I was looking at. When I tried to stop the servers from continuing to load, it wiped the entire list. Versus clicking Payload, picking a map and I am playing TF2 in 5 seconds.
Can you guys check if the quantum crouch is still there? Thanks
thats an engine bug, its not going anywhere
holy fuck the comp pass for people without phone numbers is actually 50% off. It's usually 18€. That's more than the game was worth when it was still sold.
still no Iron Curtain strangifier? God damn, was really hoping for that.
I feel like they could've also added stuff that's really expensive like the Original for instance or add reskins.
Valve had the chance to improve their game, I really can't describe my feelings towards this update. It's kind of funny to see how they just keep fucking up everytime, hell it's even impressive.

hope people enjoy DR spies running at 430 hammer units now that and the increased likeliness of facestabs

Still, it screws over so many people, even new confused players who aren't aware it's free.
Oh my god, they're really trying to take the cash of out alt accounts. Still, it screws over so many people, even new confused players who aren't aware it's free.
it really needs a massive warning in red text explaining what it is in the description
There is a list of patterns you can change in the browser, and you can "stop refresh" so you can choose
No, I can't stop refresh. Every time I do, it wipes the entire list. It's been doing that since I got TF2. It's part of the reason I liked Quick Play so much. Also I've always had an issue where double clicking on a server didn't work. It showed it unresponsive 100% of the time unless I spam click the join server button. Quick play did not have this issue. Also I do not want to look at a list of 2000 servers with 40 thousand labels and a billion different maps. That's like the opposite of user friendly
valve's fix to item server - "let's just wait until there's less people on"
Same as with summer sales... It's not worth it for them to upgrade their servers when they get such traffic spikes only once in a while, they just wait it out instead.
No, I can't stop refresh. Input the filters, then force refresh.
Three questions for the Bingo: Would you guys classify any of the cosmetics as awful and garish? Would you count the Shortstop pushback an unexpected and terrible new feature? And what's the map selection for Competitive? Does anyone know yet?

I think the negative feedback comes because we just had a taste of the bad side(bugs and some bad balances at first glance), but when the game turn back to normal we will see the good side(competitive and the good balances)
My download was also stuck at 96% Change your download region and restart your computer.
didn't do anything, goddamit, I hate this fucking game sometimes
This is what filters are for. Input the filters, then force refresh.
How is this better than pushing the button that says "Payload" picking the map I want and getting into a game near instantly?
I think the negative feedback comes because we just had a taste of the bad side(bugs and some bad balances at first glance), but when the game turn back to normal we will see the good side(competitive and the good balances)
Well yeah the biggest part of the update is competely unplayable, though that's a bit worrying off the bat because it means that every time TF2 servers go down, not only can you not play with items, but you're also locked out of everything except the plugin-filled 24/7 2fort trash that is current community servers
Is the game playable yet?
